The Conservative party is doing the same thing in Great Britain right now, apologizing for statues and historic figures and attempting to appease BLM who doesn’t even have a coherent argument that shows any sort of oppression throughout all of British history. They’ve lost both their new supporters and their base and have seen a -16 pt favorability swing, going from the largest conservative victory in history to being likely to lose the next election.

The ones with large amounts of material wealth are particularly delusional with regards to what they believe the commissars will think when they see their “personal property”. They expect a pat on the head but will likely get clapped in the back of the head, summarily executed by those they support.

People like to claim that this jfk quote is vaguely socialist but I say nothing could be further from the truth. Socialism is a government monopolization of private industry, thereby stripping citizens of their license to create. This quote asks - not demands - that you give of yourself for the betterment of your nation. Making a conscious decision to do something that is not necessarily in your selfish interest requires both license and self-actualization, neither of which are permissible in a socialist regime.
