I live in a small town with a university, and an incoming freshman was canceled because someone she used to be friends with leaked a Snapchat she had with the n word in it. The kicker? She was 15 when it was sent and has lost basically everything for something she said 4 years ago.
It's not anti Trump propaganda because Trump (as far as I'm aware) never pushed for a shut down. He pushed for a balanced reaction, social distancing and some changes to the way we run businesses to slow the spread. The governor's then freaked the fuck out and shut down the country.
Yes, doing nothing would be bad. But a shut down is just as bad in a different way. If we had taking a measured and balanced approach like president trump told us to, we would he in a much better position
Louisiana is basically shut down. It's aweful, even the hospitals, which you would assume are doing pretty well, are looking at laying off non essential personnel. I'm still unemployed, now applying for anything that could bring in any money at all. We need to get at least partially opened back up asap
Don't be too paranoid about presumed cases, only presumed cases that ended in death. Because, at least where I live, we are sort of rationing the tests. So if I (22 male) had symptoms I wouldn't be tested because it won't kill me. My grandmother, on the other hand, would be because she's old and it is likely to kill her.
But... Most masks don't work? I mean sure, if you have an N95 properly fitted, that's going to do something. But those fabric masks? Basically worthless. Hell, Bill Nye even did something proving how effective masks are, which wasn't very.
