A ‘well regulated’ show of force would be the functional equivalent of racking a 12 ga. Pump when you hear noises downstairs.
It is likely that it will require 50+ groups of 1000 armed patriots before the left really recognizes they have gone too far.
It is of note that enlisted infantry is VERY unlikely to fire upon a ‘well regulated’ militia, however metro PD or weekend paint-ballers might be more of a risk.
