Today, I was considering the current political state and the arguments made by both sides "npcs", and I believe I figured out why npc arguments are so successful:

Dehumanization of the opposition.

A strategy used all the time, including by military forces, by dehumanizing people, it is easier to disregard them, be it to ignore them, or take their lives, in the case of the military. By dehumanizing anyone who disagrees with them, both sides of our country's political state can become an echo chamber of either left or right wing views.

So what does this have to do with npc arguments? The reason so much discourse between right wing and left wing views is ruined is that one side dehumanizes the other. This is easy, as it just takes one statement, remember Hillary saying is Trump supporters are a "basket of deplorables"? This made a large portion of her voter base see us as not people who, supposedly like they do, want the best for our country, and instead as less than people, not even worth a thought.

Now the supporters who dont do any thinking believe that they dont NEED to argue with Trump supporters because, like Hillary stated, they are "deplorables" so why would they bother talking to them help about anything?

So this leads me to my point. By using certain words and phrases to make yourself seem more "human" it may make the other person be forced to at least interact with you, even if it is just them shouting down at you.

For example I believe all lives matter. Black lives matter is included in that. But black lives matter believe that this takes away from their message that "black lives matter" so what can we do? My suggestion is to not try and argue with them on this "point" or points like this example if they comes up, just respond with "k" or something equally dismissive. This will hopefully allow you to avoid the thought that you are a "racist" because to them, "racist" people are not worth interacting with. Which if the person is ACTUALLY RACIST, should be something everyone agrees with. However, in the case of the leftist npc argument in this example, a "racist" is someone who has a different view on the matter being discussed.

By avoiding that trap, you can continue to attempt worthwhile conversation with those who have opposing views. However, for this to succeed, you also need to see the other person as a person, no matter how idiotic they are.

No matter your political views, this country would be a better place if everyone saw each other as "My fellow Americans". Not as some racist piece of garbage, or in our case some idiotic leftie, even if that label REALLY seems like it applies.

Assuming you read all this, thanks for your time, and I look forward to seeing people's thoughts on my thoughts.
