Mainstream News: "We have to give money to Ukraine to support the war"

Us: "But, they want it to pay pensions. Why would a country that is worried about ceasing to exist need funds to pay pensions? We shouldn't just give every country free money."

The last time that happened, was one day after a "bug" that caused every post on T_D to show on the front page. Then T_D stopped ever showing up in the daily feed for anyone after that moment.

People think it's because they put in a patch that forced votes to zero for us, and caused some sort of underflow error that forced things back to the top.

Weird how these counts "only" go in one direction. They never have close races where Democrats win and the Republican's overtake the lead with late counting.

Memes are more effective than political discussion. The Great Meme War is only partially a joke.

The best way to sway people is with humor, and that's what this is about, making a joke about the fishy events happening so they can open their eyes. But doing so via humor, rather than facts&reason. Because anyone who is swayed by facts is already on our side, so we have to reach the more emotion-based-thinkers.

It's a D+15 district In Connecticut (2022 senate results).

The people filing these lawsuits know how to choose judges and courts in friendly districts.

Look at recent studies, done on poor people who affected the wine-once-a-day practice exactly because of those old studies.

They experience no health benefits.

It's more the association between good-health and high-income-lifestyles.

The sort of people who can't afford to have a glass of wine every day, also probably don't spend a lot of time taking care of their bodies, and are likely more stressed and prone to overwork.

The sort of people who can afford to have a glass of wine every day, are likely idle-wealthy, and can afford to take the time to address any health issues, and likely have low-stress lives in general.

Currently $11,500 to replace a powerwall battery, and Tesla will replace it for you for free if it has less than 70% of its rated capacity before the 10 years are up.

It has a linear failure rate for the batteries, so at 20 years the expected power capacity is ~40% of the original rated amount.

Writing things in all caps doesn't make them more true, it just shows people that you're unable to get your point across with facts and logic.

That battery is a toxic pile of crap that burns more fuel to make than it’s worth.

Not true. A battery costs about $130 per kWH to manufacture, and energy costs are about 10-20% of a total cost of even the most energy-intensive manufacturing. At the highest possible estimate, this means the biggest Tesla battery costs $3,000 in electricity to produce.

Assuming you scrap your car early at 150k miles, you'll have spent $15k in gas 2 years ago (or $30k in gas with today's gas prices).

Also, electric batteries are recyclable, and net-valuable to recycle (the raw materials are worth more than the cost to disassemble it, making it worth the time to recycle). 92% of materials are fully recovered during recycling.

Those dropboxes that were ruled illegal? They're back right before the next election. Who would have guessed. They'll probably be illegal again in four months.

7
Terkala 7 points ago +7 / -0

No, because the materials cost is usually under 10% of the cost of clothing. Cloth is cheap (especially when buying in bulk), it's the assembly/marketing/overhead that is expensive.

It turns out that wealth and education are both important key figures for making those things. South America didn't have that kind of wealth (because they didn't build a manufacturing base, and stayed on farming/mining industries).

Also a healthy dose of corruption-culture and lack of accountability.

People would just use the commodities market to recycle money. Spend $100 on nickle or iron, wait a day, sell it for $99.99 or $100.01, now with a new expiration date a year out.

This lying b- wore bellow-knee-length skirts in highschool. At no point did she ever wear a skirt (that I can find from historical photos).

Some level of EV adoption is good. If you have a short commute, and already have solar/wind power for your home, then it makes a lot of sense to have a EV or Hybrid and just charge it at home.

It's the widespread shove-it-down-your-throat pressure that is bad. EVs don't make sense for everyone and pretending that it does is just as stupid as opposing them in all circumstances.

But she refers to them as residents. Which makes it confusing, because obviously an illegal immigrant is not a state resident the moment they hop the border.

To be fair, you had to opt-in to this program, and specifically sign something to allow them to control your thermostat.

They chose this, specifically.

Portland simply doesn't have the officers to do it. What do you want them to do, send a squadcar with their only 2 remaining officers to try to stand up to the mob?

When you have a city that openly won't support its police officers, that discourages people from joining the force, and hates police on general principles, I'm surprised they have "any" officers left.

I remember the day when "all" top posts were T_D, because a reddit programmer fucked up and instead of artificially setting the karma on T_D posts to 0, it set it to an infinitely high value.

And then they said they would never make a rule for a specific subreddit, and T_D never made the front page again.

Let's see if youtube bans his clips for claiming that the election was stolen. It's against their rules after all.

Of course they won't.

They retconned it in the hopes of gaslighting people. And then politifact fact-checked the retcon.

Use the wayback machine, they used to mention 17 year olds.

The video in question specifically mentions "very young" hysterectomies.

My current employer tried when I onboarded with them earlier this year. I just told them I live in Texas and it's illegal to require it, and they rolled over.
