I just did a small amount of reading and it seems the shut downs work about how you'd expect. They make it hard for the little guys in heavily regulated sectors to operate. They leave just enough stuff functioning for all the swamp creatures to keep collecting taxes and paying themselves and fighting wars. We need to allow for shut downs cause they can be good, but they shouldn't be so obviously in favor of the elites. As they stand now shut downs hold we the people hostage.
I was just doing some reading. We need to amend whatever laws to make it clear no federally elected official, representative or otherwise, and no official appointed by a federally elected official, may continue to accept their wages that are paid through the collection of taxes until the shut down is resolved. The fact that congress keeps getting paid is a complete joke.

Didnt it shut down for months a few to several years back? I barely noticed besides people just casually mentioning it. I wasn't activated at the time so in my anecdotal experience...nah. probably wouldn't notice.

All of this crap is because people actually believe covid is dangerous. If the public were properly informed I think many of them would be working. Too many sheep, and the Shepard's onlybwanna cull us from the herd.
He technically did. He has received the electoral votes. More accurately he's received two sets. One set for Biden and one set for Trump. If he sent a letter claiming to have not received them the states would just resubmit and the Republican votes wouldn't magically become the certified votes. Procedure would determine the states resubmit their certified votes and GOP wpukd again submit symbolic/procedural votes. The date today was a big nothing burger. Jan 6 is the day to watch.

That's a fair response. I didn't mean occupy in the extremist sense. It felt appropriate because the police were refusing to allow citizens into a public space. Clearly behaving as enforcers to tyranny, that's when it makes sense to try to establish a civilian 'occupation.' I suppose I really mean are they still protesting/rallying.
If you really wanna stimulate the economy find ways to significantly reduce payroll tax and all other taxes. That's how you pay the people back. Stop taking from them. I keep telling my friends money given to you by the government is just money they stole to begin with. No one understands finances and civics anymore.
