DC actually has a representative in the House, called a Delagate... and it must be a cushy job, because it doesn't get to vote.
I don't know if it was a parody, but I heard something about DC still voting/appointing for Representatives/Senators in the hopes that they will be accepted into Congress... and they basically sit and do nothing all day. In today's world, I wouldn't doubt it.
"Republicans rejected democracy"
Heck yes, we did! So did the Founding Fathers.
Democracy, just as anarchy, leads to chaos and tyranny. That's why we are a Constitutional Republic.
We may be made up of democratic principles, but we are a Republic, not a Democracy. Just as our bodies are made up mostly of water, we are Human Beings, not rivers or oceans or puddles.
The problem is that ISIS and the like are the actual true believers in Islam. They are true Muslims.
The "moderate" Muslims aren't actually Muslims at all. They are apostates according to the teaching of Islam. That's why ISIS was as quick to kill them as anyone else.
ISIS truly followed Islamic teachings. Thankfully, most so-called Muslims don't. They don't even know what Islam teaches other than what their leaders tell them. They don't actually read their own scriptures. It's scary, sad, and a relief.
You are correct... as long as they listen to their leaders, they are still deadly dangerous to be around in numbers. Their leaders will stir them up into a frenzy, and then you have trouble... it's the same way with Antifa and BLM... only with religious fervor behind it.
The saving grace is that most Muslims don't actually know what the Quran or hadith even say. If they did, and actually believed it, there'd be a LOT more trouble in the world.
As it is, most Muslims are just like rabid soccer fans that will riot if someone says something bad about their team. They are more concerned with what they think their god said than actually studying what he (supposedly) said.
If they actually read their "holy" books, they would become either extreme radical murderers (ISIS) or they would be ex-Muslims because of all the contradictions and extremely flawed and absurd claims that Islam actually makes... because any human being with a functioning brain won't be able to go along with the clear lies for that long.
Then again, there are people who actually vote for the likes of Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Bill de Blasio, Hank Johnson, Sheila Jackson Lee, Nancy Pelosi, and Maxine Waters. So maybe there's not hope for everyone. You can't fix stupid.
But may God shine His light upon both Muslims and Democrats so they may escape the evils of Islam and Leftism. And may He shine His light upon us all so that we may also see His Truth more clearly, for none of us see it perfectly yet.
I believe Texas has laws that limit when/how much the Legislature can meet. The logic behind it is that being a representative is a part time job, and the less time the government can operate, the less damage it can do.
But yes, this Georgia debacle is beyond insane!
Remember when Obama threatened to put a no-fly zone over Texas, not allowing commercial flights into or out of the state?
This Texan remembers. The United States was about to commit an act of war against one of its States.
Nobody can complain about secession after that. Let's hope that the USA allows Texas to save the Republic instead.
Indeed, it was! Though I do prefer your next duel, you were quite the brave one, my friend.
Tell me, how powerful are you now? I don't think a lot of people understand.
I've seen proof that you can physically interact with the world. I always knew that "more powerful than you can possibly imagine" didn't just mean glowing and talking inside people's heads :-D
It was absolutely terrible. All it took for Anakin to become Vader was a "knighting" ceremony and name change from Palpatine? And just a single saber swing that delimbed the whiney brat?
Not to mention that the whiney brat all of a sudden transformed into perhaps the most mature, pragmatic, and "religiously faithful" character in the original trilogy? Not buying it.
I much prefer an older theory from before the dark times... before the prequels. Back then, it was speculated that Vader slowly became the dark villain over a long, gradual transition. Basically, fighting in the Clone Wars (which was nothing like the prequel Clone Wars), and it was like a slow-burning Vietnam War that suffocated whatevery good him. Battle by battle, he suffered wound after wound, eventually becoming more machine than man (not all at once).
I still remember (and still search for) a fan-art rendering of a maskless Clone Wars-era Vader. He had the face of a younger Sebastian Shaw (the real face of Anakin). He was dressed in black, and there was a hellish landscape in the background. You could see the experience of a thousand battles on his scarred face. It was... emotional. The image has stuck with me for 20+ years. I wish I could find it again!
I said Rush, not Bush :-P
Rush is literally the only person you can trust more than Trump himself.
Trump is practical. Rush is ideological. Trump fights to win. Rush seeks to destroy the enemy. Together, they are the doom of the Left and corruption. A modern Washington and Jefferson pair.
As much as I love Rand Paul, I've said it before, and I'll say it again...
The only man who can follow Trump is Rush Limbaugh. He is the Joshua to Trump's Moses.
Trump has lead us out of the bondage of Egypt. Rush will lead us into the Promised Land, and finally destroy our enemies, totally and utterly.
May both Trump and Rush live to 120, amen.
Disclaimer: I've only seen the version on Disney+, and the following is my opinion.
I agree with NotakTheWiser. It's extremely overrated, not to mention that it went to extremes to "colorize" and "re-culturize" the story of the Founding. Beyond that, it's extremely forgettable as far as a musical/play goes.
Ironically, the greatest character (by far) was a white guy: King George. My next favorite was George Washington... because it's George Washington (I'm so glad they didn't destroy his character).
Jefferson had swag (the real Jefferson deserves the accolades, for sure), and it makes you root for him against Hamilton at every point... then again, Hamilton was presented just so terribly that you'd be rooting for Joe Biden over him (more on that later). The problem I had with Jefferson is that he may have had too much swag (or at least the type that makes him seem too childish and immature for such an enlightened man). Also, the same actor play a Frenchmen earlier in the play... which was played as a cartoonish comedic role... which was appropriate for a Frenchman, but not for an American Founding Father.
Now, back to Alexander Hamilton... his character was absolutely atrocious! I'm not a fan of the real Hamilton, so this play/portrayal didn't improve my liking of him any. Let's just say that Hamilton is a prime example of how being the writer/producer comes with benefits. Lin-Manuel Miranda is absolutely terrible. He can't sing, he can't act, and he can't write music worth a dime. For the whole play, I was scratching my head how he was even on the stage, little on the titular character... then, I found out he was the boss man. Let's just say this... whatever awards he got for Hamilton, he deserved them about as much as Obama deserved the Nobel prize.
As, for the music, there were only one or two songs that are even pleasant or get stuck in your head (one being King George's theme). The rest were humdrum or worse (I am NOT a fan of rap/hip-hop). I honestly don't remember Hamilton actually singing a single note. I don't even know what he does... call it rap or whatever, but it's like he just speaks his lines in rhythm with music... it's bad. I can easily say that the two women outclass everyone vocally.
Am I glad I watched it? I am glad that I saw it so I know what it is. If you have Disney+ already, and can watch it with no further cost, I'd recommend watching it also when you have nothing better to do. You may get a kick out of King George or so (and yes, I would watch a full musical of just him). But if you're wanting to watch a musical, and you're in a patriotic mood, I'd go with 1776 instead. It may be older and stuffy, but there are times where you can really feel the weight of the decisions and consequences the Founders were dealing with. At least it was a celebration of America and Liberty.
How about focusing on DA races and midterm elections
Gee, I don't know. Maybe because we focused on the Presidential election... and actually won it straight up.
So, let me ask you. Let's say we do focus on DA races and midterm elections, and win them straight up also. But... because of election fraud, the fraudster candidates actually get seated instead of the rightful winners. Then what will you suggest? We focus on the 2024 election?
Do you get where this is going?
If you lose this election, you lose America. That's all there is to it.
All you have to do is look at history. When a new king takes a throne, the first thing they do is secure the throne. They imprison and execute anyone who has a valid claim to the throne or the capability to take it. That's what the court system and election system are in the USA. They will never again be valid. They will become mirrors of courts and elections in communist dictatorships. They exist only as a show.
That's why Trump MUST win NOW.
I'm still waiting for Trump to order the construction of the ultimate air supremacy fighter... the F-14G Trumpcat (solid gold paint scheme).
It will be such a big, beautiful plane that it may be in the best interest of peace to not fly it, or our adversaries may be willing to provoke us just to have the honor of being shot down by it.
So, perhaps Trump is just waiting for the Space Force to mature enough so it can construct the SF-14 (StarFighter) variant.
Either way, Tomcats for life, Tomcats in death!
Amen! And he sticks to the Word... unlike many even more famous preachers/evangelists who compromise black and white Scripture with man-made theories and flawed logic. In some places, Scripture can be vague and easy to misinterpret (Revelation)... but much of Scripture is as clear and simple as 2+2=4.
You're welcome! I hope it helps! :-)
Some things in Scripture fascinate me more than others. Pre-Redemption Paradise is one of those things. Instead of dying and being in the presence of God, talking with Him, the righteous were in the presence of the tormented wicked, talking with them.
Haha, come to think about it, maybe I can relate... living in the good, ol' South during an election year, while the West Coast is on fire both literally and figuratively with RBG passing and Corona lockdowns. I may not be in Heaven, but at least I'm not going through Hell.
You're very welcome!
Yes, it's hard to imagine living/dying in the time before Jesus redeemed us. Even just talking with God was difficult. I'm sure living under the Law was no fun, because nobody could do so without fail.
But thank God, He made a way to change all of that! :-D
In all seriousness, isn't the Bible pretty clear that there is a "sleep" after death until the end times judgement? I've only been reading about Christianity recently and that seemed sort of clear and ot baffled me that so many people think you go straight to heaven or hell upon death.
I'll try to keep this decently short and simple, haha... it can go quite deep and complex. But here is my belief based on the Scriptures...
To your question about "sleep" after death. Yes, Jesus spoke of people who were dead as "asleep." Such examples are Mark 5:39 and John 11:11. Paul also speaks of sleeping as well such as in 1 Corinthians 15:51. What they speak of is true in a sense, and this is why...
We humans have both a physical body and a spirit. Yes, when a person dies, their body goes to "sleep." But only their body. Their spirit goes elsewhere (I'll explain later). Their body lies asleep, waiting for the Day of Resurrection. When that day comes, the bodies of the righteous dead will "awake," and will rise to meet their spirits in the clouds, then the righteous who are still alive will rise up afterwards. This can be seen in both 1 Corinthians 15 (again) and also 1 Thessalonians 4.
Now, why do I say that only the body sleeps, but not the spirit? I'll let a story from Jesus Himself make my case, but first I will give some context... the big picture...
At the end of Creation, God said all was good. God is a spirit, so He reigns from His spiritual city of Heaven. This is Heaven proper... the holy city of light that you think of. It was meant only for God and His angels because mankind (and every other being on Earth) was meant to live forever. Earth itself was a paradise (notice I'm using a lower-case "p" as a generic description). Though there isn't confirmation in the Bible, many do believe that God walked the Earth with Adam and Eve. So it was a pure and innocent world.
At some point, Lucifer rebelled against God, and was removed from Heaven. He came to Earth and tempted Adam and Eve, and you know the story. They sinned against God, and became cursed to live under sin. The world was also corrupted. It was no longer pure, it was stained. And because God is a holy God, He cannot bear to be in the presence of unholy sin, so God and man were eternally divided... man could no longer be in the presence of God (this is why God almost exclusively limited His actual presence on Earth to the Ark of the Covenant). But not only did sin divide man from God in life, but it also brought death. Now, man's body would die, but his spirit would still "live." Because sin stained the spirit, not just the body, man's spirit (his actual being) was also unable to be in the presence of God, so he could not go to be in Heaven because of that impurity. But his spirit had to go somewhere...
In those days, the spirit of every man and woman who died went to a place called Sheol (Hades/Hell). Every single person, whether wicked or righteous, went there. However, God is just and merciful, and He does not judge the righteous as the wicked (Genesis 18). So He divided the souls of the righteous from those of the wicked. The wicked went to Hades proper, where there is constant and eternal torment, but the righteous were carried to a place there that was separated from Hades by a great gulf or chasm. This place was called Abraham's Bosom, also known as Paradise (capital "P" this time, the name of a specific place). It is a place of peace and fellowship with the saints of old.
Jesus speaks of this is Luke 16 when He tells the story of Lazarus and the rich man (a true story, not a parable). He told of the angels carrying Lazarus' spirit to Abraham's Bosom. He told of the rich man being tormented by flame in Hades. He told of Father Abraham being with Lazarus, and Lazarus being comforted. All of this happened before Jesus told the story, so it was certainly before the Day of Resurrection. So it proves that spirits do not sleep... they are always awake somewhere.
So what happened? Jesus' sacrifice. Jesus came to save mankind from the curse of sin, making a way for man and God to be reunited. When Jesus died, His pure blood washed away the sins of the world. Man's spirit was no longer bound to the penalty of sin (which is death). Man, if he accepted the gift of redemption, was now free to be with God after his earthly life ended. So now, when a righteous person dies, their body falls "asleep," but their spirit goes to be with God in Heaven.
But what about Paradise and the righteous spirits in it? When Jesus was hanging on the cross along with two thieves, one thief mocked Him, but the other asked Jesus to remember him. Jesus told that man, "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise."
So when Jesus died, His body slept in the tomb. But His spirit went to Paradise in Hades (Ephesians 4). While He was there, He also took the keys to Hell and Death (Revelations 1). After three days, Jesus' spirit rose from Sheol to be reunited with His body. According to John 20:17, Jesus had not yet returned to His Father in Heaven whenever Mary Magdalene saw Him. He had been in Hades the whole time.
But Jesus did not rise from Hades alone. He also took Paradise and all the righteous spirits with Him. Now, Paradise is located in Heaven proper along with all of the saints (Abraham, David, Adam, Moses, the Prophets, every righteous soul). Paul mentions this in 2 Corinthians 12.
Haha, I guess I didn't make it so short. Sorry about that! But yes... when a person dies, their body sleeps, but their spirit goes to either Hades or Paradise. Paradise used to be in Hades, but now, it is in Heaven in the presence of God. And it is now possible for man's spirit to be in the presence of God in Heaven because Jesus washed our sins away.
Glory be to God in the highest! Amen! :-D
P.S. I know that Dr. David Jeremiah also believes this, and I'm sure he knows much more than I do, so you can listen to him if you wish to learn more. He has a full video series (and a book) on the subject of Heaven. He sticks to Scripture itself, and that's extremely important to me. May God bless you, all who read this, and everyone... especially the United States of America!
Heroes are going to hero.
May God bless Texas, and may God bless the United States of America.
