Libertarians are not monolithic any more than Republicans or Democrats are.
I'm a registered Libertarian and i voted for Trump. More than half the libertarians i know voted for Trump - and that's in NY where voting for Jorgensen would have helped the party and not have mattered.
Not everyone in the party is for small, constitutionally limited government: some are anarcho-capitalists and some are left-leaning anti-authoritarians. The left-leaning people are globalists who want one kumbaya world without borders. Fuck them. They piss me off to no end.
That being said I think that Arizona still has a lot of Never Trumper Republicans who voted for the Libertarian Party.
And you also need to nominate someone who can win in the general election. You can nominate a great defender of liberty but, if he doesn't win in November then what? You have someone who is against you 100% of the time.
