There is an unfathomable amount of legislation on crime in America. I wanted to run for Congress on the banner of “ no new laws until Americans polled can demonstrate total understanding of the laws they are held accountable to”. Gridlock until the laws can all be learned and recited by high school graduates. And honestly most bills shouldn’t exceed 5 pages when the majority are thousands. Severe punishment for Congressmen who pass a law and fail a quiz on what was in it. That’s how pork gets crammed in. And the people better get a published >5 page readable version of the bill. If the federal laws that applied to the general public was limited to 1000 pages that would be a chore but at least most Americans could read it through out their education.

As for recoil, pistol caliber carbines have essentially none at all. There are other ways to supe out a pistol to make it shoot smoothly but that usually requires a decent amount of research and a couple hundred bucks poured into a gun. For say a glock 17 you could get a threaded barrel, compensator, stronger recoil spring and you may be up to about $400+
