I have been following this for the last year. I also stopped shopping at major retail stores in favor of local or US own businesses. We are also making and building things ourselves. Its has been hard at times to find certain things, but I'm willing to go without or spend a little more to not buy cheap Chinese crap.

If SC is not careful they will follow the same trajectory as NC and could become more left leaning. In NC Raleigh and Asheville are two very liberal epicenters. Charlotte is also going downhill. This election year will be the first in NC since the voting districts were redrawn to favor the Dems.
Columbia SC (which is the county in OP) with USC's campus is going left because the students there are the epitome of white liberal entitlement. You are correct that Charleston is full of yuppies and hipsters.

I used to think having a gender reveal party was dumb. However, now I'm inclined to think they renforce that biological sex and gender are inextricably linked and I am supportive of these parties.
