I recently started rewatching the shows with my kids, and I'm coming to the same conclusion. Charlie Brown is a loser who makes peace with losing. That's not a lesson I want my kids to learn. Sure, losing is a part of life, but the only acceptable response is to use the loss as fuel to come back stronger, which includes learning lessons like don't trust the sociopathic bitch with the football.
I posted about feeling sorry for Hunter for being bought and sold by his father his entire life. I think a difference between conservatives and leftists is we can have sympathy for someone and still insist on that person paying the price for their crimes. I don't think we owe him any kindness, and best case scenario he needs to be in jail for several decades. He's responsible for his actions. But the way his father used him was completely sociopathic.
There is definitely a part of me that feels bad for Hunter. He has been bought and sold by his father for most of his life, and that has to take a toll on a person's psyche. He's still responsible and has to pay the price for his law-breaking -- and his father should swing -- but I think this picture is probably more truthful than we know.
