If you don't already, try exercising during your break and try to make it a daily habit. Even just pushups/sit ups/pullups/burpees/take a walk or bike ride. No real equipment needed other than a bike if you go that route. Tree limb or park monkey bars for pull ups if you don't have a bar.
Before you know it you'll either get in shape if you're currently not, or be in better shape if you've been slacking, which might help boost your spirits.
About your assignments, I'd recommend facing that storm and trying your hardest to make yourself catch up on that because that's an easy one to let slip too far and you'll kick yourself later if you do. Even if you have to half ass some or all of the work to get caught up and then you can focus on doing a better job then. I like this Mike Tyson quote about discipline for doing things I don't want to do, but know I have to "Discipline is doing what you hate to do, but nonetheless doing it like you love it."
