Isn't this old and found out to be someone trolling antifa?

Is anyone on here left from the Old Times?

I am not part of the anti-mask contingent.

But I am happy to see people stop shopping at Costco. For everything I like about their business, I still think conservatives should have nothing to do with them for their anti-gun policies. I'll ignore useless anti-gun signs in states where they don't have force of law, but Costco's membership agreement means agreeing to abide by their rules, and those rules include a prohibition on carrying.

So I am not sure why all you guys were shopping at Costco to begin with.

Snowden did break a law, but in a case where every avenue available to him legally was almost sure to result in the American people being unaware of what needed to be known, and having personal retribution in response.

As far as I am aware, he took the only moral and only practical option. It is deserving of a pardon.

If Mcconnell really threaten Trump on this... I have no words for my anger.

Mods/admins should have public signing so tech-savvy parts of the community can verify authenticity if something like this were to happen.

I forgot how foundational this poem was for my character, putting into concrete words things I had felt already, and using words to make fences to warn me against making mistakes of character in the future.

It is a fantastic work.

Our president isn't racist. Follow that example.

And moreover, this doesn't even make logical sense. Taiwan is almost entirely Han Chinese and they have a functional nation. The people of mainland China have been screwed by communism.

It's the other way around.

Neither statement is itself racist. What is racist is saying that one is legitimate and the other is not--ie, that only certain lives matter. Clearly, some violent people think so. And unfortunately, responding to those specific hateful people is instead seen as a response to the non-hateful on that side of the movement. It is a sick game, and some people know exactly what they are doing.

It isn't uncommon to send messages this way when your intention is to use Blind Carbon Copy for all of the recipients.

I have no doubt that they will crack down on even properly sourced posts.

But if you are still posting there, make them either hold to their word or price their word wasn't worth anything in the first place. Either is a win.

We can see the poetic justice, but I believe Justice Thomas can rise above vengeance and act impartially.

That is what makes him qualified for the bench. And it will be on that basis he decides... Even if it has the same result as the vengeance/poetic justice.

Rabbits have particular needs. They aren't hard to care for if you know those needs and can meet them, but you should definitely do the research first because the consequences can be serious for the little guys.

Some rabbits are affectionate, some are not. Don't expect to hold and cuddle them--it happens sometimes, but plan on them sticking to the floor.

They are like chill roommates who are addicted to chewing long, thin things and paper.

No more clock changes, but no more DST.

Noon is when the sun is directly above--or as close as we can get it with 24 time zones and clocks. Standards are important.

The number the clock reads means nothing about when you should be up. Wake according to the position of the sun you prefer. Do not let the clock rule you. Do not try to change other people's behavior by controlling their clocks.

Color mixing has two types: Additive and subtractive.

Additive color is when you mix light sources together. You combine those wavelengths. Combine the full spectrum (or enough to stimulate all the cones in our eyes) and you get white. This is how television screens work: Get close to your TV and you will see red, green, and blue dots, which lines up with the sensitivity.of the three types of cones in our eyes.

Subtractive color is what we do with pigments. They appear as a specific color to us because they absorb visibile light frequencies except what they reflect to our eyes. So, as you say, when you mix all colors of pigment you get black.

Sure. We can also disagree without undermining leadership, like so many people working in the White House that wanted to talk crap when their work day was over.

There's no problem with different opinions, but if we're having a perpetual campaign rally then it's probably better to not undermine that by sounding like what liberals stereotype us as when that isn't what President Trump is.

Because some people are better than the s***hole countries they come from.

Our president is not anti-immigration, he's pro merit-based immigration.

Our first lady is an immigrant.

It is possible to want to fix the broken immigration system without being anti-immigration. That is what our president is about. I suggest getting on board.

I already explained this. I'm not sure how explaining it again is going to help matters if you didn't read it the first time.

But sure, why not.

THEY WERE MISUNDERSTANDING HIS POINT. AS USUAL. IT WAS KIND OF A PATTERN IN THE GOSPELS. JESUS WAS DISMISSING THEM, NOT AFFIRMING THEM. This would be true even if it was metaphorical--ESPECIALLY if it was metaphorical! IF IT WAS METAPHORICAL THEN LITERAL SWORDS WERE NOT THE POINT.

The whole point was Jesus warning them about how things would be different BECAUSE HE WASN'T GOING TO BE WITH THEM ANY MORE.

There is a further lack of consistency with that interpretation because THEY DIDN'T ARREST JESUS BECAUSE OF PETER'S VIOLENCE. JUDAS WAS ALREADY BRINGING SOLDIERS TO ARREST HIM.

Jesus was talking about it all, down to their day to day life. Because they did not have those concerns while He was physically with Him.

His words also had spiritual meaning, but their face-value, literal meaning was equally true and applicable.

I will tell you about understanding, because you misunderstand it.

ThePragmatist -1 points ago +1 / -2

Spiritual metaphor? So you imply that they also continued to not carry money belt, bag, and sandals through the rest of their lives?

You read my post about as well as you read that passage. Yes, they were martyred. They weren't murdered by highway bandits. Big difference.

The whole speech was about how they would have to watch out for their own well-being when He was gone. If the swords had been for just a prophecy-fulfilling moment, he wouldn't have said anything about selling anything for swords they already had.

Their response to him and Peter's action showed that they were eager to tangle with the Romans, because that is the Messiah they thought they had been waiting for. Jesus was not here for that.

We don't see them engaging in self-defense, but that doesn't mean they weren't prepared for bandits, just as they also engaged in industry rather thsn just following Jesus and taking what came to them. We have missionaries today who pack heat at home and are willing to be martyrs on the mission field. There is no contradiction or paradox.

The issue wasn't enough to get arrested vs enough to defend themselves.

Jesus made a speech about how they would need to look out for themselves in his physical absence--including an advisement about being armed.

Then people come to him with swords saying "Are we armed enough to shank all the dudes you want to shank?" Which was absolutely not the point, and so Jesus just dismissed them with a "yeah, sure".

The people of the time were waiting for a warrior to liberate them from the Romans. That wasn't what Jesus was out to do, but he definitely advised them to be prepared for self-defense.
