I don't think he's worried about the holidays. I think he rightly has some misgivings about giving an order which would unquestionably result in civil war, even if it is much needed now. I know we don't like thinking of Trump as being a man who struggles with doubt, but he wouldn't be much of a leader if he did not. And what we are asking of him now is that he have the courage to, like Caesar before him, overthrow a republic in order to save it. Whether it has already been overthrown by enemies, traitors, and degenerates -- regardless of the necessity -- the reality and enormity of that act does not soften. Perhaps we should give him whatever time he requires to decide if he really does want to change the course of world history with the stroke of a pen.

Houstonian here and I couldn't agree more. I was born in this city and I love my home, but ffs, these liberal "leaders" are a goddamn joke. We've been thanking our lucky stars that our mayor is just weak and not a totalitarian and that's a low bar, you know? That said, the city voted redder (I'm talkin' Trump, not just GOP) this year than we have in decades, so I think the ground is starting to shift. Harris County was officially red for the first time I think in my entire life. So, progress. Wish I could say the same for Dallas and Austin, but...
