My favorite series of books is The Sword of Truth (high fantasy dressing on top of anti-communist philosophy). The best book of the series is called Faith of the Fallen. In it, the hero is stripped of all of his powers and forced to live in what amounts to a communist hell hole of a society as a commoner. He spends the majority of the chapters talking people into a rebellion, yet sits it out when the rebellion happens. It is quickly squashed and the people are dejected. He does so because the first rebellion is not the real rebellion. He knows that it takes losing this particular battle for true clarity to take hold in the hearts and minds of the oppressed. For the people to understand exactly what is required for victory.
No traitors were never going to hang today. We were never going to end this today. But we did start understanding what is required of us for victory. It's a cost many did not fully appreciate until now. It will have to get worse before that cost is paid, unfortunately, but this is just the beginning.
If the money does go out, is the only choice of patriots to reinvest it into American gun manufacturers? I see gun purchases as a wash. We become less secure as a nation financially, but more secure physically. Maybe land purchases too?
