We all have our own way we're going to cope... with this. Some will be more hard hit than others. Some will be taken up from this Valley of Tears. For those not so affected, or maybe for those surviving family members of the deceased as well...(?) Maybe...make this quarantine and all the traumatic events taking place right now into a momento mori. Recognize the holy and spiritual in the every day because we won't any of us be here long. We all gotta go. Sooner or later. So, let's gain a little more gratitude for drawing breath regularly. Be mindful and show kindness towards each other. I definitely need to learn appreciation for the "everyday" things and family members I often take for granted. :(

Some say the economy will always come back. Saw a good post on [the site that shall remain unnamed] yesterday about "Hammer and Dance"? You see that one? Interesting stuff even if it was mostly over my head. Idea is that you first bring the "hammer" down on the virus' spread by enforcing strict quarantine measures. Then, let people out who are lowest at risk and the "dance" begins where you are now managing the sickness levels. Without an overburdened medical industry because everyone has supplies and is prepped thoroughly. "Hammer and Dance", check it out!
Was wondering, the other day at Trump's news conference, what the heck he was talking about when he brought up automobile accidents and suicide numbers! Got on 4chan (and other sites) and saw different theories in regards to how epidemiologists handle pandemics. Many of them are only concerned with the health of people strictly in terms of dying from a particular pathogen. Not other factors like employment, etc. They don't study the larger picture in terms of economy and how being out of a job or more living in a delapidated, collapsed society (if everyone was forced to stay inside the full 18 months!) would also cause deaths.
It's a balancing act and nobody knows the exact answer. UK is trying one thing. China brought the hammer down big time because they could. Because they're a totalitarian oligarchy. But, remember, they also needed population control anyways, regardless of exactly how or who released this thing. China got rid of a lot of older and poorer people who were a burden on their system. I said that... sheeet... @ the beginning of January. Anyways...
Was skeptical of "go back to work!" and think it's still too early but see both sides now. Strictly locking everyone down may limit spread initially but it'll still be floating around out there, in other countries. And waiting as soon as you emerge! So, you'll get it eventually one way or the other. Overwhelming the hospitals will cause more deaths, unrelated to CVD19, from doctors not being available for routine stuff. Etc etc.also just sheltering in place for a month, waiting for them to figure out the best cure with least amount of risk or long term side effects? Sounds good to me.
Too Long? ~~~> it's a balancing act between health, right now!, from virus!... and long - term health if you destroy your overall way of life and end up in a totalitarian state with high unemployment, etc. I'm still leaning towards 'health, rn', but thankfully it's in the hands of Trump... who is listening to people that have studied this exact scenario for years on end.
