The NRA is the Trey Gowdy of gun advocacy groups. I agree with what they say but I'm not exactly sure what they do sometimes...
The NRA needs to remember there's more to the 2nd amendment then this sexy high profile stuff that everybody sees. I think they've gotten a little to fat and happy. Sure they talk big with their "Biden wants to ban AR-14's isn't he stupid" but where were they in Virginia? handing out 30 round magazines? That's not what members pay their dues for.
This isn't a wholesale criticism of the NRA or the good that they do, I just think that they're kind of used to "going through the motions" and forget that there are other really good (or even better) pro 2A lobbies like GOA or SAF.
So by all means join the NRA, but don't forget that's your only (or best) option.
Yeah, I hear you there. Personally, I'm OK, but there are families I know where it's either extremely inconvenient or they're being laid off. There's real people who in the matter of 1 or 2 weeks have had their livelihoods taken away from them, and for what?
When I went to the bakery the other day, everybody behind the counter was wearing gloves, bagging the baked goods for the customer and then then taking cash and giving change at the register all without taking off the gloves so cooking at home from scratch probably isn't a bad idea...
Yeah, I know that's how property tax works in theory and if it was collected at the local level that would be fine, but it all goes to the state and is more or less fungible... plus where I live, they always talk about fUnDiNg ThE sChOoLs!!! when they want to introduce more taxes or vice to the community. Every. Single. Time.
Opening a casino in the county- "It will help pay for our schools" Liquor by the drink- "It will help pay for our schools" Yet another mill levy to add onto the basketball courts or football field - "It will help pay for our schools"
I'd go for property tax first. Property ownership is a right, not a privilege you have to pay for.
Property that is taxed (house, land, vehicle) means the government owns it, not you.
Don't believe me, stop paying your "rent" aka property tax to the government and see if they don't try to take their property back.
The whole thing is really a highlight reel but here are two particular areas of interest:

I don't think there's a "nice" way to say this so I'll be blunt: Comic books are an utterly stupid waste of time that all too often prevent people from functioning as adults. The same goes for Star Wars, Disney princess movies and a lot of other entertainment (video games) that gets taken wayyy to far.
There's a lot better places to look for real masculinity (or femininity) than from a comic book.
This usage TDS doesn't exist in the wild because the late night ministers of right think haven't programmed their NPC's to use it in this way.
On the other hand, the high level intellectual takedowns like "Drumph" or "plod turd man" I could see, but not TDS.

The demoncrats have a bona-fide communist as a major presidential candidate, they also have no place for any democratic politician that's even slightly socially conservative. Compare that to the republicants who basically roll over on any leftward victory and think "this is normal now and we must conserve this new status quo". All conservatives do now is function as a political sea anchor. They just sloooow down the leftward movement, that's why the people voted for Trump.
The only reason we have Trump is because of Ron Paul.
During the 2012 republican primaries, the Ron Paul was (somewhat) successfully trying to do a brokered campaign. The GOP establishment was set on having M̶i̶t̶t̶ ̶R̶o̶m̶n̶e̶y̶ Pierre Delecto as their nominee for pres, so they changed the delegate requirements with rule 40(b) which only allowed candidates with a majority from 8 states be considered for nominee.
Of course, Trump was the only person to meet those requirements in 2016. I don't know if he would have got the nomination regardless of the rule, but that rule the GOP establishment put in place specifically to stop Ron Paul, also shot them in the foot when it came to resisting the rise of Donald Trump in 2016.
As someone that paid off that paid his expensive but not valuable history and philosophy 4 year degree with a 1 year technical degree from a community college. I would like to offer hope to the indebted by saying even though you dug yourselves in a hole, you can get yourselves out it's not easy but you made your bed and you need to deal with your own debt. It's no ones fault but your own and you live in the most prosperous country in the world so figure it out.

This is all an attempt to get people to freak out and become vulnerable to overreaches of the government (especially at the federal level).
