I took my 81 year old mother to the polls today. I helped her to the booth and her only question was "How do I vote straight ticket for Trump" She voted for every republican down to the Municipal Utility District. She's an Hispanic immigrant. If my mom is voting for Trump, I know a lot of other Latinos are as well.
Having a conversation with a friend... she asks who are you voting for? and immediately says, "If it's not Trump, you don't support the church". I do support the church and will vote Trump. she said be sure to vote down ballot as well . deep breaths. all is not lost.
I spent the week in DC. I walked the mall, downtown, and around the White house, and over half were not wearing masks. The people are getting it. Bars and restaurants were serving. I had a good time, but glad to be back in Texas. Of course coming from Texas I was required to quarantine for 14 days. Who does that?
I have to work tomorrow. Yet I sit on my patio in air you can wear (humid, it is Gulf coast TX} smoking ciggies and drinking wine and thinking...why did I lurk so long?
