It is not correct. National Guard are covered under Title 10 and Title 32. The distinction between those is absolutely key, but way above a forum conversation.

The bottom line is this: The federal government can force the National Guard to deploy overseas, but within a state things are different.

Reserves are never part of the state governments at any time and are always federal.

Not an expert in the National Guard, but I think you have it backwards. They are dual state/federal entities that get loaned to the federal government for overseas operations, even without the governor's consent.

The encroachment of the federal government into the National Guard is a little-mentioned aspect of modern federalism that is worth a discussion.

As it is though, for intra-state operations, they operate as Title 32, not Title 10. The President could give the order to stand down but it probably would be rejected by a conservative Supreme Court.

I will always regret being duped by the "Free Trade is always good" crowd. The "Capital Account Surpluses" that other countries accumulate with these lopsided trade deals has another name: wealth. Other countries accumulated wealth at our expense.

And, as always, fuck Ben Shapiro.

Yeah, this post looks like a pede in disguise to me. Either that or a pre-pede type of person.

If you use the phrase, "I'll be honest," in any capacity, that's a bad sign.

That's some language you got there. You speak like that all the time?

API classroom, I thought as much given earlier accounts.

Get ready for the "conversation" about armed watch.

Same story, different century.

Today's progressives changed the trim color, but still have the same beliefs.

As a graduate of flight training there, this hits really close to home. He's a true hero, and I hope the spotlight on training our allies and our "allies" results in some significant changes.

Really an environmental move.

I'm still mad as hell about the abuse of power of the previous administration. Justice will not exist until Lois Lerner is in jail at the very least.

The Onion played a serious role in its own demise.

Last funny thing I saw from them was years ago. Some video on "how to get your boyfriend to pay attention to you when he's inside you."

I agree. We should fight it out here, idea style.

We're fans of assimilation, not immigration of either kind for immigration's sake.

Michael Knowles' naive position mirrors the Conservative Inc position that demographics do not determine electoral destiny, just look at 1930's blacks and modern Cuban immigrants.

Well, the future does not contain 1930's blacks nor first generation Cuban immigrants. It contains first, second, and third generation immigrants who overwhelmingly vote left.

We are already too late. We have not fixed how the 14th Amendment is applied. I fear that GEOTUS is the last hurrah, and no amount of Democrat overreach will stop their inevitable hegemony in 10 or so years.
