The Seventeenth Amendment provided for the direct elections of Senators by the voters of each state. Originally, two Senators were chosen by the state legislature to represent the interests of the state. Their re-election chances could change if the people decided to change out the legislature. But, during the "Progressive Era", it was said that didn't represent the people's will directly enough and the 17th Amendment was passed.
Now, we have Senators who get elected by people simply because of a D or R by their name, and little knowledge of them. They have become like "super-representatives" because their election is every six years. And we get people like Lynden Graham, John Cornyn, Chuck Schumer and the late Robert Byrd. (Byrd BTW, at the end of his life felt that the 17th should be repealed)

I think I understand why he is voting against certificstion, unless an audit is done, and it not an underhanded devious reason.
Remember that half the voters by the survey in his statement, even some Republicans and independents, are still not sure there was fraud. These are the people who get their info from MSM and are generally clueless. I think the audit ploy was not to sabotage Trump, but to give a public, undeniable option to look at it for the public just now figuring out something is wrong.
An audit, could without a doubt clear the minds of the undecideds. However, I think Cruz knows the offer will not be taken up for fear of exposing the fraud. All it would take is a little in each state to be revealed for people to believe it was rigged. The floodgates would open.
Now, do I agree with this approach? No. But I can uderstand why it was taken.
We should counter-attack all the people and media saying "President-elect Biden" and get things going viral which show how stupid it is to claim this when SIX states are being investigated for blatant voter fraud. Combine examples of fraud with a phrase.

Most people are being bombarded with terms like: unsubstantiated,false, unproven, isolated, reckless, when it comes to MSM reporting on the MASSIVE fraud perpetrated in various ways and locations. Most people have only a faint idea of the extent of the fraud. Even many Trump supporters are in the dark.

If you get a fake ballot (in someone else's name, name with wrong address, dead person, etc.) Take a photograph of it!!!* Take it with something else if possible to corroborate the date (a postmark, etc). A picture lasts forever, but once it is turned over for "investigation" your proof is gone. MAKE A PICTURE OF IT!!

The next congress, which the Trump Party will control, should address the consolidation of media ownership in the U.S. :
No more companies that own radio, TV, movie, print, and Internet outlets.
No more horizontal integration. Limited vertical integration.

I talked to two co-workers (remotely), both in Texas, one in Arlington and one in Granbury. One said that when her husband was hospitalized the hospital staff refused to test her because, "If he has it then you have it." A few days later she gets sick and is hospitalized, but who might she have come in contact with before that happened? She was never tested. Wouldn't it be a good idea to know EXACTLY what the patient has so it can be treated effectively?
The second one went to the doctor after a week of illness and "They basically think the only people worthy of testing are those with other health problems and those damn near dead. Since I was neither, I can't get tested until I get closer to death's door."
WTF?!! After all the effort to procure rapid and adequate testing and the medical community isn't going to use it to accurately determine how many people actually have it? Wouldn't it be a good idea to know if someone has it BEFORE they get on death's door? How can you trace down the carriers if they don't test people?! Insanity!
Here's the idea. Make it a National Town Hall Meeting. Media attend, but sit elsewhere. Have members of the public attend (background screen & WuFlu screening prior) and draw them from visitors to the White House, OR take emailed Q's from the public. No anonymous Q's. State true first name and last initial and city of residence before going question. Citizens or legal residents only. Media may ONLY read aloud emailed Q's, not their own Q's. Hold it in the East Room where there is more space. Benefits: better questions, genuine questions not "gotcha's", average Americans can directly participate and direct questions to Fauci, Birks, Trump, Pence, etc., All media can do is read the quetion given to them. If not, they STFU.
