If you are even 1% sure you are sick, wear a fucking mask or even better, just stay home.

Otherwise, who cares.

Maybe they get a job after the company outsources everything to the same people in a different country, and after a few years realizes their mistake.

You must be new here in corporate America.

You don't "get" anything, you demand something and show that you currently and in the future will provide value well beyond what you are demanding.

They should just end the H1B visa, by requiring a minimum salary of 10x the poverty level in the city for a family of 4.5; on top of the normal taxes with zero deductions allowed require an additional 25% to be sent to a fund to sponsor merit based full-ride scholarships in the same field for US Citizens to public universities in the same state. Also remove any benefit to progress on a green card for being on the H1B program. Give everyone currently on the H1B program a green card, and let the real competition begin after the chains of a promise of citizenship are broken. Watch the economy explode and wages return to a competitive, although reduced compared to '99 level.

We can keep the H1B-3 program though.

If they really cannot find any qualified US citizens to do the job at any price, let them hire foreigners and pay for it. I bet 99% of current H1-B tech workers could be replaced in less than a week if you offered $150k USD (or $250k in commiefornia dollars)

Congress will do what it has been doing for the last few weeks, take a vacation.

I expect that they are about to get so wrapped up in red tape that they will have to shut down like usually happens when you get too much government involved in your business.

The dems seem to be full speed ahead picking the 'hill to die on' types of issues lately, and this is going to fail spectacularly:

Abortion clinics staying open.

Banning guns

Banning Churches

Doesn't Trump still have his concealed carry pistol?

Thankfully if they had the motivation to actually do anything, they would have a job and not be a Bernie supporter.

Probably why Bernie supporters fail so much every election.

We already saw what would happen, we would get the green new deal if Killary was president.

Couldn't someone just pay people $10 to ink their finger and buy the election.

Have someone with zero information beyond talking points hold a 'press briefing' in the press room, and at the same time have Trump hold an 'America Briefing' in the rose garden.

The ship should always be ready for war, no exceptions.

If they fail to prevent a disease from taking the ship out of service, they have failed.

next do abortions, and use a Log scale to make it possible to view the comparison.

It will be interesting to see if everyone staying home and not being able to do elective procedures like abortions will be a net decrease or increase in deaths.

So, we need to watch when $5M of amazon stock is sold in one go, and watch what other stock is bought 3 days later, so we can profit too?

Are they allowed to leak this information like they just did with their stock trades? I wonder if any AI is able to pick up on the specific trading method used for these transactions and learn to follow the behavior and make use of information that I assume is only available to congress.

It is not like anyone would be willing to trade directly with a congress person outside an exchange with anonymous orders, considering the disparity in information and legal protection between congress people and everyone else.

Infrastructure investment is one of the few things that the government actually does half-decently compared with private companies.

sure, I had a 4 lane bridge near me in the middle of a field with no road on either side of it for 5 years.... but for the most part they do a half-decent job compared with everything else.

If it is not going to pay off in the next 20 years, and there is no way to actually collect the benefits to society for the investor... private companies are in general not interested. Tesla/spacex excluded of course.

Please remember that a church is not a building, it is a group of people that worship together.
