This is very good BUT one mistake. CAPITAL GAINS tax is NEVER associated with PRE TAX investments like 401k’s mentioned here. You put INCOME TAX on those account distributions as the deposit you make into those accounts are on a pre tax basis, essentially you AVOID tax today to pay it later on a larger amount likely when tax rates are higher which is BAD.

Capital Gains tax is even WORSE. You make money and pay Income Tax to the IRS. You then invest that money to earn interest on it. The government will take 20% (today’s rate) of the INTEREST PORTION you earned in essence taxing you TWICE.
