My country just had a presidential election where the far right (he's not btw) candidate went from having 60k to 500k votes in a year and these votes generally came from areas in the interior, left wing areas of working class people and farmers who have traditionally voted for the communist party for years.
We are now seeing the coastal elites of Lisbon and Porto starting to insult them instead of addressing their concerns and why did they radically shifted their vote preferences.
This is how everything started in america right? Do these people never learn or is it on purpose?
Does the media not understand how the streisand effect or the human rebellious spirit work? Do they not care?
This shift surprised literally everyone as it was similar to the shift that happened in the Rio Grande Valley, poor working class people who voted heavily for the left for years suddenly and unexpectedly shifting their vote.
One example is my country during the 1st republic where administrations and parlaments lasted just months because of all the corruption and money laundering bullshit, the military decided to just take over and put a stop to a corrupt republic (granted they installed an authoritarian dictatorship but you get the point).
I’m pretty sure this point has been reached in america, problem is the US government is too decentralized and the military is huge so there is likely no consensus to complete an operation like this.
Any american pedes have any thoughts about thus?
