Yea, they do this in literally every election, though the reasons they give varies. One year I asked a poll worker about this and the exchange was like: "Oh - it's just alphabetic order." "...Then why is Trump before Jorgenson?" "Uhm... alphabetic order of party." "...Then why is Libertarian before Green?" "Oh... uhmm... ah... alphabetic order of first name?" "...Gloria is before Howie?" "--L-look! I don't have time for this!! It just is what it is, okay?!" If you press them on facts, then they will just get upset. Cause they don't care about facts - only power. And the only cure for that is a helicopter ride.

I know exactly how you feel, pede. I have good friends - otherwise kind and smart people - who insist that they are neutral and moderate and formulate all their own opinions without outside influence they are just totally free thinkers coming to their own conclusions based on the facts.

And then they will tow the party line harder than a fucking tugboat and literally shout me down Chris Wallace style and say I'm 'distracting from the issue' when I dare deviate from the neat little script they have in their heads. Two friends have literally covered their ears and said "LaLaLaLaLa" like a fucking child and then called me closed minded!! The cognitive dissonance is remarkable. That's why we call them NPCs. They are not bad guys, but until the system changes and they are told it's okay to not tow the line they are just mind slaves to the enemy. Very much like the Matrix.

Hah, nice story. For me it was a goddam sticker. I was on my uni campus during the whole campus rape culture BS and there was this one bathroom right next to my office. Mens room, I wasn't out yet. One day I walk into the bathroom and in the middle of the mirror is this fucking sticker that says "The Average man will rape 2.4 women while attending this school. Be a part of the solution." It was right in the middle of the mirror. I couldn't even wash my hands without it being right at eye level. I had never even dreamed of touching a girl inappropriately in my entire life; I didn't even hang out with girls because I was so terrified of being falsely accused of impropriety. And now someone decided to put a fucking sticker in my face basically calling me a rapist and demanding I repent without even bothering to know who I was. It made me so insanely mad.
So I decided: Screw em. I decided I would do literally anything in my power to end their unjust persecution of innocent boys. I would make sure that that sticker backfired on whoever put it on their as hard as I possibly could. Never found out who it was, and I guess it doesn't really matter. Ironically, I stopped using that bathroom shortly thereafter when I transitioned, but I went it one last time to check and it was still up almost a year later. For me that was it, the message was sent and there was no going back.
