No matter what data set you look at, anything larger than statewide totals (state, national, international) pegs COVID fatality for 70+ at under what, 10%?

They probably knew the moment it was announced the president had a > 9 in 10 chance of being just fine, and it terrified them. The most public example of how probabilities work possible.

Also, funny you as good as say "hurr fuckin' kids these days" when you can see those senior enlisted and officers behind Joe with grimaces on their faces. It ain't generational, pal.

Yeah, I bet you do.

Meanwhile, I have an overwhelming urge to collect carts on my way into the store.

I don't go out of my way or anything, but any that are on the way between my car and the door, I'll just grab and add to my train.

Like some other pede said above, it's the little things.

Except you are expecting me to do just that. Just with you as an extra layer in between. I'm supposed to take care of you, so that you can then take care of your whelp. While not lifting a finger when people like me are actually in the fucking weeds.

Fuck off. It's fucking weird how everyone here seems to claim to be a nuclear family traditionalist, yet apparently the lady of the house can't rear the children by herself so the husband can go fight for their continued survival? Hoooookay.

Trashaccount121 0 points ago +2 / -2

but muh family!

Sorry, I'm not gonna go to the mat for a bunch of pussies expecting me to fight for them just because I myself happen to be childless.

Yes, I'm calling you fucks out. Sick of hearing the fucking excuses. If you give such a shit about your kids and spouse and consider this an national existential crisis, you should be willing to put everything on the line. But no, you waffle and whine about "b-but by taking care of my kids I'm doing my part" - no, fuck that, neither you nor your kids deserve the revitalized society that gets built on the labor and blood of the rest of us.

The system is protected by a cipher that is counter checked against an alphanumerical sequence the president has. If they can not get that sequence - that is, they don't have what would commonly be called the "nuclear launch codes" in the hands of the president - they can not launch. Period. They would have to guess the string of characters, and as memory serves it has an X-tries lockout where failure to input the correct sequence results in the system refusing to continue.

Edit: this is based on personal experience with (non nuclear) cryptographic systems' general operational procedures, as well as various documentary pieces. And they're just showing the bits the public needs to know. There's probably even more layers deeper down than that. I just wanna make it clear that no, I am not a missile control officer, never have been one, and am merely relaying publicly available info along with anecdotal speculation.

As for the age of the missiles... What, you think someone is gonna "hotwire" a complex cryptographic system and, on top of that, the navigation system?

It is fail-safed. Stop with the Alex Jones-y shit. Do you really think the US would design a system where a mere two hypothetical traitors could nuke the country singlehandedly? Two traitors, mind you, with top secret clearance and probably checked all the way back to how many detentions they got in school for record cleanliness.

Edit:

The Gold Codes are the launch codes for nuclear weapons provided to the Presidents of the United States in their role as Commander-in-Chief of the United States armed forces. In conjunction with the nuclear football, the Gold Codes allow the president to authorize a nuclear attack. Gold Codes are arranged in a column and printed on a plastic card, nicknamed "the biscuit".

The card is similar to a credit card, and the president carries it on his or her person. Before it can be read, an opaque plastic covering must be snapped in two and removed.

Gold Codes are generated daily and provided by the National Security Agency (NSA) to the White House, The Pentagon, United States Strategic Command, and TACAMO. For an extra level of security, the list of codes on the card includes codes that have no meaning, and therefore the president must memorize where on the list the correct code is located. The concept behind the codes is that they permit the president to positively identify themself as the commander-in-chief and thereby authenticate a launch order to the National Military Command Center (NMCC).

They need a time-sensitive authorization code from the Executive to launch. Even if the air force grunts manning the silo turned around and went "down with the US!", they can't launch even if they wanted to.

My language will not be compelled by anyone.

I know what I mean when I say certain words, and if someone is gonna misunderstand because they are too intellectually lazy to figure it out from context, that's their problem, not mine.

I refuse to change the words or language I use for anyone's sake.

I'm 30, and have been in the Navy for 8... Dunno when you were in or how exactly things changed, but as another pede said above it's one thing coming from your Chief or whatever the fuck SNCO rank for other branches that you've worked with and trust.

Joe has no such camaradarie with the troops. It's not like he's some salty retired general or some shit that can speak from experience, either. The subtext, also from another pede, is that it's essentially an order to applaud him. Fuck that.

There is nothing in the UCMJ saying we must offer blind praise to superiors, merely that we must obey their (lawful) orders and not be blatantly disrespectful. Not clapping at some political grandstanding, I would argue with some certainty, is not being disrespectful.

Also, funny you as good as say "hurr fuckin' kids these days" when you can see those senior enlisted and officers behind Joe with grimaces on their faces. It ain't generational, pal.

The annoying thing, not that I'm defending sleepy joe here, is that this isn't unusual for a tv interview. It's not like he's listening to a TV through the speakers or something, the interviewer's audio is pumped through the earpiece. Otherwise you'd get a lot of feedback and noise.

Of course, very very easy to mix in an aide who is giving him answers, of course.

Different militarypede here... Not only no but fuck no. You don't "bust balls" of a crowd of people you don't fucking know, let alone people you are many levels in the chain of command above.

Looking at this in a vacuum, ignoring it as a "counterpoint" to Trump's alleged remarks, there is no place where a person who barely rates as an acquaintance should be insulting you, no matter how he "meant it". I'm not hypocritical enough to say his words were "violence" or whatever, but a leader who backhandedly insults people he doesn't know, hasn't worked with, and will likely never see again is one of those cases where I would bite my tongue, respect the rank, but lose any and all personal respect for the human being wearing it.

B-but guys Tim pool isn't maga enough!!!!1! Le beanie man bad!!!

He isn't for you. He's for people like the gentleman in this video. The sooner you understand this and let him do what he does, how he does it, the sooner you'll notice how many thousands of people he's saved from the Leftist hellhole, singlehandedly.

Geneva Conventions only apply to state/organized military forces.

Now, if you wanna talk about classifying Antifa/BLM as a uniformed soldiery...

Does anyone know definitively whether or not DOD falls under this or not? The OIG blew me off of course and I need to whistleblow on my Navy command pulling this shit.

Yes and this should ring alarm bells for anyone

Uh... Just to be crystal fucking clear here, you have knowledge to share that she adopted them when they were ten or older or something, such that they absorbed shitty cultural standards from however they were raised, right?

Because that's the only case where it should be "ringing alarm bells". Unless you're implying something more... Physiological.

The words "white privilege" and "systemic racism" were used often.

By literal wording of the EO, specifically with regards to the phrase WP, it violates the EO. This wasn't normal "don't bully shipmates who aren't white" training.

4
Trashaccount121 4 points ago +5 / -1

Steer a fellow pede -- OP, you mean? Myself?

The EO says ALL FEDERAL AGENCIES. I would love an explanation of how DoD isn't a federal agency.

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

I am being asked to violate my oath, as I am attending training being given despite the president's orders. Or at the very least, those okay-ing it are.

Basically: phone gave up recording halfway through (file size I think), but within the first two blurbs/spots there was a woman talking about putting her blackness first and systemic racism and all that shit.

6
Trashaccount121 6 points ago +6 / -0

Update: I didn't realize this would happen, but my phone stopped recording halfway through. File size too big maybe? Anyways, it's 26 minutes of audio only, but there's enough said in the pre-recorded bits I did capture that it gets real fucking close to Critical Race Theory. Will create new OP with new account this afternoon when I have the files ready. Keep your eyes open for the thread.

I'm not eligible for a pension (haven't been in 20), and as my edited op said I'm already getting out, was planning on it before this.

As for dishonorable discharge fucking my future up in general... Well, if it gets that far, then yes, I am absolutely willing to go that far. I don't back down from shit like this because but muh job equivocation.

My life means nothing to anyone beyond my parents and the country I serve.

I don't give a fuck about consequences anymore. I know my fucking convictions, and I will stand by them till I'm penniless in the streets.

12
Trashaccount121 12 points ago +12 / -0

This is direct violation of Trump's EO.

That is to say, if this is about systemic racism and all that shit, it isn't normal Equal Opportunity "treat your black shipmates the same" (like I fucking need training for that).
