I seriously do NOT understand why we allow the media to 'call' elections. None of the calls they make are official. They are not elected officials. And as shown this year, media outlets are biased, incompetent, or both.
To find out more about this guy, I went to the Carrolton site that has information about the upcoming Carrolton municipal elections. I wanted to look at a sample ballot, but found his application to be on the ballot instead.

Juneteenth.com has a long article about this holiday, along with a lot of other information. The holiday began to commemorate the day Texas officially learned of the Emancipation Proclamation.

I know people who celebrate with large family gatherings. I'm struggling a little to understand why it would be disrespectful to hold a Trump rally on that date.
From the video I've seen, it looks like the police officer kneeling on Floyd was distracted by something, maybe the people that were gathering around. Still not really an excuse, but could be the reason he didn't get up. He wasn't focused on Floyd.
I once worked for a white collar criminal defense attorney. One of this attorney's clients was facing federal charges for crimes he didn't commit (can't give all the details here). He was innocent but was being pressured to plead guilty. If he went to trial and lost, he could have spent at least 20 years in prison.
I asked my boss how this person could plead guilty in court. Since he would be under oath, that would be perjury.
The attorney's response disturbs me even years later. He said that the plea would have to be carefully worded to prevent the client from committing perjury.
There's something seriously wrong with a system like this.
People have to plead guilty just to avoid the draconian penalties and injustice of the federal court system, but they have to LIE to plead guilty.
If it's so dangerous to vote, maybe they should just consider ... ya know ... postponing the election. Maybe for four years or so?
