I am in Central Texas,Hill Country.We are frozen solid.Everything is covered with ice.19 F right now,tomorrow night it's suppose to be 2 F. Never seen anything like this in my 20 years living here.The ground is covered with 2 inch solid ice crust.I live in the middle of a skating rink,lol.
Rockport is nice but doesn't have the open ocean beach.It is on the Aransas Bay.
Mustang Island off Corpus Christi is great.The town of Corpus is not that interesting imho.There is Texas State Park on Mustang Island.Drive a little past the State Park and you can park your car in front of the ocean.There are toilets,you can light campfires and even camp overnight.Always lots of friendly Texans fishing,grilling and drinking.
