-the post creator did not critically or carefully think about the material he posted and/or posted inaccurate info
-the 3400 updooters didnt not critically or carefully think
-we need 100 more of the top comment type posters to fact check users like the post creator, to balance out the 3400 updooters, and to apply critical and careful thought
- Just pointing out the flaw in your idea of critical thinking: automatically dismissing everything because it doesnt fit your narrative isnt being anymore rational than in quote blindly accepting everything.

So while we need critical thought, yes, that extends to both schools of thoughts on thedonald: doomers/"the realists" and hopiums/anons.
Otherwise each side is presupposing their idea of critical thinking on the other while failing to realize the other side doesnt hold the same biases, current assessment of the situation, ideas about what will happen next, etc. Therefore they wont apply the same 'standard of criticality' because they are operating on different worldviews.
Its a micro version of how the left and the right can look at the same event and have diametrically opposed takeaways on it. The worldviews are completely different so obviously their opinions on who is being rational will be different.
Please dont excoriate under the banner of reasonability and objectivity.
