I work for the Fed Gov. (NASA) Early Jan is the deadline to use up your vacation time that cannot be rolled over. My guess is that they had too many people with planned scheduled vacation time and could not staff the meetings as well as meet other obligations.... This is nothing unusual. It’s called Use or Lose leave. Anything about 240 ours are removed from your balance in the first week of January if you dont use it. Since the majority of folks in the Fed Gov. are working from Home, and china virus has limited many people’s vacation time throughout the year, there has been a notable decrease in the amount of vacation time folks are taking...
