Fren, TVA nuclear engineers knew the 1975 event at Brown’s Ferry was a near meltdown. You can actually find nuclear engineers that worked at Brown’s Ferry that echoed the same sentiment. For decades, TVA and the NRC knew of the shortcomings of Brown’s Ferry. It wasn’t until George W. Bush that Brown’s Ferry was updated to the tune of about 2 billion dollars. New fail-safes were installed and the plant “modernized” for another reactor, but government waste failed to modernize the reactor properly. In total, the overages for the renovation of Brown’s Ferry cost around 4 billion to the taxpayer and the new reactor still was riddled with problems. It was close enough for government work.
Fast forward to 2011 and that day of April 27th was horrendous across the Southeast. I’ll say this one thing, engineers talk. The NRC release you linked to in no way did justice to how afraid nuclear engineers were at TVA that Brown’s Ferry was going to meltdown. The diesel generators were not operating at peak expectation, let’s say. The steam fail-safe valve that failed, was something that was a fear among TVA engineers. There was even a question whether the injector system would even work. So, when you say there were no near meltdowns, that’s disagreed upon by the TVA engineers that knew about what happened.

I’ve never even read this little recounting of the ‘75 incident, but they were concerned about a meltdown in ‘75.
Brown’s Ferry in Alabama had near meltdowns twice, the most recent in 2011. Three Mile Island always gets the historic attention, but Brown’s Ferry had near catastrophic reactor meltdowns twice in it’s operating history. I’m all for nuclear energy, but we’ve got to modernize our nuclear plants and move away from water cooled nuclear piles.

When you look at core causes as to why the American Revolution began, two-tiered justice for loyal British subjects versus American colonists caused a major backlash against the Crown. It pushed John Adams to support revolution in particular. It’s an admission that we Conservatives knew to be true: Democrats used an illness to destroy the economy, usurp the federal government through a coup, and claim President Trump engaged in a gericide, when, in fact, the Democrats sacrificed hundreds of thousands of people for a Dementia patient to win the White House. Democrats, throughout our history, have no issues sacrificing human life to keep people enslaved physically and ideologically. We are witnessing the destruction of our elderly, the Middle Class, and the youth to achieve The Great Reset. These are acceptable sacrifices to Democrats for a population reset and destruction of the last remaining free-thinking nation on the Earth.
