The GOP uses many different domains and numbers to spam your texts so you have to keep blocking new ones. It is infuriating. When I call to tell them I'm not in the GOP and to take me off all of their lists it only goes to voicemail.

This is what u/Shadowman3001 stated a year ago. He did not say they would "never" ask for donations.

As for donations, we aren't, and won't for the foreseeable future, be asking for a dime.

https://patriots.win/p/yPrpE/why-are-we-winners/

A lot has happened over that year.

When they say they won't take our money, many impugned their motives and made accusations. When they finally do allow for it, and in a very appropriate way, you trash them for that.

Don't be an asshole about it. Just don't donate if you don't want to.

Yeah, it really sucks. I went to an indoor range last week after not shooting for about six months and it was nearly empty and I shot less than half the ammo I normally would.

Can confirm, this is some bitch I know over on GAB.

The issue is that it takes time to open and fund a new account no matter where it is.

Waiting for the ACH transfer is what kept me from buying yesterday; the quickest a new account can be funded is by the next day. I am being prevented from buying TODAY.

I can't post this to WallStreetBets because it's reddit, but anyone who has posting privileges there is welcome to copy this over there. I posted it to Gab also.

I haven't had a regular investment account in a few years, I've only had IRA accounts (at Schwab), and I didn't want to sell anything in them to buy $GME. I've been pretty happy with Schwab and I knew it would be easy to ass and fund an investment account, so I did. Schwab shows it open and funds available.

First I tried to put in a limit order on $GME and it wouldn't go through, so I tried a market order and that wouldn't go through. So I decided to see if it was specific to $GME and it turns out it IS.

When I tried to buy Apple, the screengrab at the top shows it would go through with no problem - there are "enough cleared funds in the account for first time trades" if it's $AAPL. So I tried $GME again at a slightly lower total cost than $AAPL and the trade was blocked.

They are restricting me from buying $GME, but not $AAPL I'm sure it's for my own good....

I was being flippant, this isn't something I would ever do. I was idly wondering where I could get some oppression points without much burden of proof and popped out with Indian because my whole family lived in the wild West for many years. But I would not claim their heritage (and no matter who bred with who, I know I would not pass any of the tribal conditions like you mention.)

The federal government has always implicitly taken sides with others over me and they are about to amp that up. Being gay wouldn't be enough oppression points to get actual advantage with the feds if you are white, so it won't work to claim that.

I want to figure out how to get "small disadvantaged business" status and force them to contract with me. It's Joe Biden's America, I want Joe to pay me.

I'm considering claiming to be native American. Surely someone in my family line hooked up with one?

That's the crazy part. As I understand it, shorting is "borrowing" shares, so the same shares must have been loaned out more than once. This doesn't seem functionally correct, unless it's a loophole intentionally left in for the Wall Street crowd.

Also, I am enjoying the hilarious irony of a "hedge" fund not hedging their bet.

Mark my words the financial establishment will flex their donor muscles to have the political establishment prevent autists wearing buffalo horns with Viking tattoos from trading their stonks.

Quoting to highlight the perceptive wisdom in your exit line. It's worth reading one more time.

made moves that caused it to go up quickly

Translation: They bought the stock and encouraged others to buy as well. That's it. That's their manipulation - they bought the actual stock. The invested their own money to purchase shares in the company and put that money at risk if the stock goes down.

The hedge funders had speculated that it would go down and borrowed shares to sell at a future low price, which means their potential loss was staggering (leveraged well beyond their actual initial investment). They did so at a rate far beyond the available shares of the stock, which puts a lot of pressure on the value of the stock since people say "wow, there is a lot of money betting that this stock will go down, they must know something, I should probably sell mine". That was not considered manipulation, but actually buying the stock itself is being called manipulation right now in front of our eyes.

Will these Redditors eventually sell their shares? Yes. Will the stock price go back down toward the value of the company? Yes. Will some people lose money on that? Yes. These are all normal.

It's been ten years since I've had cable and I can no longer tolerate the commercials on free streaming TV. My ex really enjoyed Sling for a while but I hated having to pay them and still watch commercials. I have over-the-air HD TV with good signal from all the network channels for free and I never turn it on for that reason (it's for emergencies or I guess some super special TV event that I would never know about if it happened, hah)

I have 2 Vizio TVs and they came with Plex apps already installed, but I use the Roku streaming stick (cheap) on one for a better experience. Plex also works on a Kindle Fire TV stick (cheaper) plugged right into an HDMI port (like the Roku) on the side of your TV.

I run the Plex server on my main desktop PC and it's mostly flawless. (I recommend wired ethernet from the server PC to your modem).

Kodi didn't suit my needs, but Plex has been easy for anyone in the house to use. I used to have Plex, Netflix, and Amazon Prime apps sitting next to each other but now I'm down to just Plex.

If you are using an adblocker you may have something blocked that it needs, maybe script.

[Oh sorry, I forgot.]

Yeah folks, it's torrent all the way!!! Easy-peasy as long as you have a VPN.

I can relate. Which is better for hookups? Recently single again and can't figure out how to get to the ladies with all this COVID hysteria.

I had a ten minute blackout the other day but otherwise it has replaced my SMS app. I don't know anyone else that uses it, so haven't been able to take advantage of the encryption.

They have text that shows for some channels that says you need to use their VPN to watch, looked to me like that was premium pay channels. Numerous channels play without that just fine.

Cable alternative: usenet with SABnzbd and Plex FTW. I think I'm ten years cable free. You can thank me later.

That is a good idea!

I've been hesitant to screw around with my main phone since I need it to earn my paycheck. Maybe I will buy a phone to root and try AOSP.

(I was going to root a Kindle not long ago, but I found Fire Toolbox and I stripped the Kindle down to look like just plain android with the launcher and apps I want.)
