Excellent analysis, thank you. This is the stuff I come here for. Well, also for the memes and the sophomoric humor. But this stuff too.

Can confirm. I'm not convinced by the image without sourcing.

They also could have normalized the cruise ship stat to "per 100,000". It is a useful way to relate the data.

[Recommendation for future posts: Pedes like to know more, please give the sources of data and charts, etc., if they are not obvious. It gives more credibility to the post and gives us something meatier to talk about (instead of people whining about the data or the chart itself).]

Well meme'd, good sir. (I don't care that you stole it.)

I honestly do not understand the high degree of skepticism I've been seeing about this. Why not just take them at their word on this issue that the costs are low and they are happy to cover them out of pocket?

Myself and the rest of the mod team have been absolutely amazed at the number of you offering both time and talent here. We seriously cannot thank you enough. ... As for donations, we aren't, and won't for the foreseeable future, be asking for a dime. There are no outside money people either, it's strictly out of our own pockets. Thankfully our developers blow Reddit's out of the water and the website is efficient as hell!

https://thedonald.win/p/yPrpE/why-are-we-winners/

Operating costs aren't ever going to be high enough to be a concern for us. We invite community members to advertise, but we don't see any kind of donation drive happening.

https://thedonald.win/p/46AbtJ3/x/c/Fz1sF1m9

Please donate your money to the Trump campaign rather than us.

https://thedonald.win/p/yPrpE/x/c/3nNfICv

We're funding with our own money, there is really nothing more to it. Costs are very low.

https://thedonald.win/p/4K8v63f/x/c/GIq5z6mL

I think part of the motivation, at least for me, is how hard Reddit tried to kill us. We're funded entirely by our mods. Our server costs are very low despite traffic currently at very similar levels to /r/The_Donald's, pre-demodding.

I go back and forth....

Sometimes I'm all "Burn in hell motherfuckers!" and sometimes I'm all "Meh, who gives a shit about them?"

I like the advice: Winners focus on winning while losers focus on winners.

While at the same time, I really enjoy the thought of drinking their salty tears. So here I am.... I deleted all of my comments and posts on r/TD and still have the karma. I'm waiting to see if I am inspired to do something with it.

OP - I have 250 coins that Reddit gave me for some reason. If you let me know what account to help look legitimate, just let me know and they are yours.

Here is Michigan, 174,054 votes for Obama https://mielections.us/election/results/12PPR/

Here is California, 2,075,905 votes for Obama https://elections.cdn.sos.ca.gov/sov/2012-primary/pdf/2012-complete-sov.pdf

Both of these align with the graph for 2012, so perhaps it is using good data after all. [I found those sources via Wikipedia but did not rely on Wikipedia for the numbers.]

Of course any graph is better with sources disclosed and clear labeling. Okay. Your point is correct.

The concept of the post was to show that voters are turning out for Trump in the primaries when there is no real contest.

Shadowman3001 said in his "Why are we winners" post:

Modding The_Donald used to be fun. Going through a nearly endless queue of commies, bernouts, shariablue Hillshills, and banning them with cleverly worded "fuck you"'s in the ban message. Modding didn't even seem like a job, because we had fun shitting on leftists. ... My entire mission statement as the head of this place has always been "Be more fun than the other guys. People are attracted to fun."

And then it became a pain in the ass, trying to thread the needle to keep the site unbanned on Reddit.

https://thedonald.win/p/yPrpE/why-are-we-winners/c/

Let's work to support their efforts and also not be huge pains in the ass to them.

Let's be more fun than the other guys and keep this never-ending party for President Donald J. Trump going strong.

There may be some legal merit to that, but let's not take away from the fact that the mods are donating vast amounts of their time and unknown amounts of their money to maintain this place for us to MAGA.

Yay! One step closer! Thanks, mods

Obama had a 2012 primary for the Democrat nomination, and then there was a General election where he had a GOP opponent. Why do you think these numbers are for the the general and not the primary?

5
TwoStar 5 points ago +5 / -0

Primary votes for the incumbent running unopposed. People are voting for the incumbent when it doesn't even matter because he will be the Republican in the general election, in the same way when Obama was up for re-election.

People are turning out to vote for Trump, which is a strong indicator they will turn out to vote for him in the general. That is the story that is not being told in the press.

2012 was uncontested primary for Obama. This is apples to apples comparison.

I think it's a good sign that so many of us want you to take our money. I appreciate your position and I hope you don't get too tired of having to explain it. And I apologize for the skeptics that think you are somehow getting something over on us for doing this for "free".

Thank you -- all of you -- for donating your time and effort and for reaching into your own pockets. I respect your decision and your contribution to MAGA.

You arguments are valid, and I held the same opinions for a long time. But they also eventually expire. How long is long enough to have Americans there dying? Fifty years? One hundred? How many more American lives should we accept losing to police there? Another thousand? Fifty thousand?

Enough is enough. It is time to end it.

I say this as a hawk, and a conservative, and a lifelong Republican. I supported Bush throughout his presidency. I have always believed that a strong America, prepared to act swiftly and decisively, is the source of peace in this world.

The only time someone gets "appointed" to the Senate is when a Governor has to fill a vacancy during a term. A Governor. A President would never appoint a Senator or Representative.

You have to go back.

This Administration is handling this incredibly well. Very competent, very confident, very deliberate. I love this timeline.

I am so excited for the second Trump administration.
