Yeah, I get it.

I was thinking you don't normally watch a bunch of people sitting in a church service so it doesn't take much for something to stand out as odd.

And now its two years later and nothing happened with any of those people. So what do you think now? That something still might?

Good analysis.

If there is no major development between now and then, I expect some in Congress to pretend like they took it seriously "for the folks back home" and harumph a lot, then cave and go home.

That being said, I'm not a doomer. I called my congressman less than an hour ago and talked to an aid in hid DC office. She said he had not told them anything specific about the 6th, but she did remind me that he signed onto the Texas amicus brief. I told her to let him now I would be there, standing outside to watch and I expect him to contest the fraudulent states. When I hung up I also wrote him an email through his webform saying in more detail that if the Republicans cave to the Democrats it will be the end of the party and that if HE caves I will do everything in my power to make sure he never gets elected to anything ever again.

I will be there to witness what happens, and I will act accordingly to what they do.

I can't see it either.

Can you tell me why you think there could be something ominous in those envelopes?

Exactly. Two systems of "justice."

You are welcome.

I was looking for longer clips and found this video from the Guardina showing everyone mingling before the funeral. This is the source of the Biden "reaction" clips. I timed it to start at 1:20.

https://youtu.be/k2xvtqVdWEo?t=80

Joe and Jill are sitting down and Hillary is right in front of them on the other side of the rail working the crowd. It looks like Jill or Joe's program fell to the floor. Jill reaches down and gets the program and hands it to Joe, then reaches back to get the envelope. It appears to me she has no reaction at all to the envelope, she is just having a conversation with the woman to Joe's right. Joe takes it from her and flips it over, then Hillary must say something because they both look up at her -- THAT is the reaction. Then the camera moves over to Bill Clinton who had just walked up to greet Al Gore, and you can see Jill to his left, not reacting. Then it cuts back to the original angle and Joe is flipping through the program and Jill is sitting next to him.

This is a nothingburger. Anyone who thinks those people were handed indictments (and those people are out there!) or some kind of dire warning that their cabal was about to be taken down just wants to be fooled.

An alternative view: We need momentum on this, GOP only jumps on bandwagons that are moving.

Before they just stood up and objected and got gaveled down (2016 video of Biden gaveling down objections). They are supposed to object in writing with one representative and one senator, and that apparently has not been done in a good number of years.

So watch out for anyone who stands up and says, "I object" but doesn't do it in accordance with the US Code -- they are only doing it as performance art to show the folks back home.

Don't take that bite just yet, let's see what they all actually DO.

I wasn't really responding to him, I was telling my story for perspective. I think OP was talking about Japanese nationals in Japan, and what he says is consistent with what I have seen and learned of their culture. To your point, the employer would ask if teh applicant had tattoos and the applicant would answer honestly -- or more likely not even apply in the first place. They have a very different culture there from ours.

Thank you for posting. I watched Ali's latest video on Twitter and I'll say that man is NOT playing around.

I donated to stopthesteal.us just now, it's a worthy cause.

I like women. I like working with women and I have hired plenty myself and I believe I have promoted a higher percentage of women than men.

It is definitely true that there are some industries/companies where it is the men who are not being given a fair shake, especially if they are white. Nobody carves out promotions for men like they frequently and freely do for women and for the favored identities du jour.

The guy you are responding to posted more. He is definitely an exception to norms.

The Marines can always afford to be picky. They also fall under the Navy which has had big problems with gang affilitions forming active groups on large surface ships.

I can undersstand why the Army can afford to be more tolerant.

Bigot!

See? If you say it enough it loses all meaning and power over anyone.

I'm a bigot too. I'm not really, but I am sure sick of being called a racist, so I just tell people I am now.

I want to party with you!

I may have to ask if I can sleep under it if they cancel my room.

Thank you. However this is behind a paywall and I can't watch it.

I went back and read Gohmert's complaint and compared it to the 12th Amendment. I think it's vague enough that Pence could probably decline to count certain states and state that no one received a majority and then it's on like Donkey Kong. I'm not saying he has clear authority to do that, but I am saying they sure as hell could not appeal it to the Supreme Court if he did! Who could possibly stop him?

I am going to be standing outside while this happens, to answer the call of my President and to bear witness.

Edit: Let me add - I think using the 12th Amendment as Pence's exclusive authority to decide which votes to count is a reach -- I HOPE HE DOES IT! but it's hard to get there based on the language. Perhaps the ambiguity here is our friend.

The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted.

Who has a source for "Pence has the sole power to do this base on multiple interpretations of the 12th amendment". I can't find anything on this and I have looked.

IF the law and rules are followed, I haven't seen anything giving Pence any latitude other than calling for objections and ensuring there is a debate. If this all gets that far, the NEW House as a whole and the NEW Senate as a whole would vote seperately on whether to accept any state slate of electors that were challenged. That is the part that would get wild and Pence would oversee.
