Hi 'Pedes.

I'm seeing extreme doomerage on the sticky about Trump's pardons. The main doomerage concerns the lack of Assange and Snowden.

I look at this a little differently.

Let's start with Snowden. There is a solid amount of evidence that despite what he has done for 'the people', in leaking what he did; that he actually did so for other reasons. Many believe him to be a 'spook'; and a life-long one at that.

Essentially, the suggestion is that he did what he did for the wrong reasons. Trump has always called Snowden a traitor. It's fair to say that he knows more about that whole thing than any one of us.

Assange is more complicated.

Let's assume that our hopium is correct; and that Trump is not done. That within the next 24 hours, all manner of shit is going down. If that is the case, Trump needs to be seen to be as NEUTRAL as possible. This is more important for him now than ever before. Whilst a great deal of us believe Assange should be released, it is a very polarizing move to make, due to the friction it would cause in American ally countries.

If Trump truly was done, I believe he would've added Assange. But I think he may have other plans for him, and others like him.

I appreciate that this is just my opinion; but I know that Trump is a big picture kinda guy.

Anyways, I just wanted to say that, as seeing this wonderful place succumb to so much angst against our number one president makes me sad.
