So, earlier today I had a steak dinner with my mom, dad, my sister and her boyfriend. Now, I had previously listened to them at other dinners about how Donald Trump is literally Hitler because he is scapegoating illegals, and how we all need to fight white privilege. I kept my mouth shut since I didn't want to start an argument, but tonight was different.

My dad started with talking about how Trump was an authoritarian, I politely disagreed and tried to explain as to why I thought the Democrats fit the bill even more.

Big mistake, they looked at me with total shock that I dared to have a differing political opinion. What followed was me trying to explain as to why I think the Democrats are the worst thing for america. But the kept interrupting me with, "But muh racism, muh facism, muh sexism." Everytime I refuted something they would say I was just being used.

The real kicker is my sisters boyfriend looked at me and siad, "I feel like you're just listing off a ton of points to make your point." Like, the fuck else am I supposed do?

My own mother literally called me a nazi supporter and my sister left crying. Her boyfriend kept looking at me like I was the bad guy.

She wants to calm down and talk to me later. I won't be apologizing however, I'm only going tell them that the dinner was ruined because they couldn't afford me the same respect I gave them and actually sit down and try to understand anothers beliefs.

I thought they would be different, but the left really destroys families.
