This is true. I am over 40 and never voted before 2016. I have paid attention to politics closely since I was very young, Reagan's 2nd term. I knew that elections didn't matter, because the candidates are selected before hand and no third party ever gets a chance. I voted for Trump because I figured he would either do what he was talking about or he would confuse and stir up the system enough to do exactly what he did. Expose the true nature of the psychopath griftters. He did both somehow. I only wish he went a bit more scorched earth on them. 8/10 would elect again.
