The problem with the last century is that people decided teaching morality was "oppressive" since it restricted people's freedom. We instead taught people that disciplining others for immoral behavior was abusive. We're now reaping the consequences of this worldview.
Morality must be taught through discipline. There are superior behaviors than others in society. Not all beliefs and moral values are equal. Not all experiences are worth having. Parents must teach children their wisdom. Absolute freedom to do anything without consequences is not a good way to run a society.

I don't agree. I think it's a result of never living up to his father's accomplishments combined with his father's lack of proper parenting. I would even suggest perhaps Joe was a little overly controlling and talked down to Hunter a lot. Joe likely didn't foster a very good mentor-like relationship with Hunter.

Modern leftism is basically the logical conclusion of the enlightenment and the anti-God rhetoric pushed on society. Protestantism was one of the beginning rebellions against God because it gave credibility to the idea that humans could just interpret the Bible (God's word) however they wanted and each was just as good as another. This concept essentially amounts to the underpinning of subjective morality and leads to moral nihilism in the end which is where we're approaching today.

I propose a new idea. Anyone who releases a prisoner earlier than his sentence is responsible to pay the penalty for any crimes committed by that person for the remainder of his original sentence. If you aren't willing to take the risk that he'd commit another crime again by facing the same consequences then you have no business releasing someone earlier than his original punishment.
