You could power up an inverter with a prop driven Alternator regulated at 13.5 volt max, but I went with the starter motor because it's a freak'n starter motor! They are built like tanks, serious copper and magnates, tough housing and a free gear.

I did that 25 years ago..it works..and if you use a starter motor and drive the drive gear with ten times the size/sprocket count attached to the prop blades,,,..instead of 12 volts,you have 120volts.

Boomer here...there is not one piece of equipment I use that I could not build or improve. There are plenty of younger people who would not be able to graph a sine function on a TI-84, much less create a TI 84.
