CDC VAERS reports 9794 individuals with adverse effects. Of those individuals with reported adverse effects, 2.37% list "death". Way more than 9794 vaccines have been administered.
Approximately 31 million vaccines have been given in the US to date. If these vaccine deaths are the only ones reported, then that would mean 232/31000000 = 0.00075% death rate from vaccine.

If the cell towers go down, internet goes down, censorship goes nuts, etc., radio will still work. Your range will depend on your setup and the frequencies ("bands") you transmit on, but radio can allow you to communicate anywhere from locally to thousands of miles away. For under $100 including the cost of the first level test, you can get a handheld UHF/VHF radio that, if in good environments, can let you talk to people within a few miles directly, or up to 20+ miles if connecting through a repeater.
Repeaters are units that receive signals and re-broadcast them (typically from a higher elevation and with greater power - the "recipe" for long range) to extend the user's range.
Making their short list of passengers even shorter cannot be a good business plan.
