People can literally write this out with their own keyboard and still not see a problem with it. I don't get it. The only consolation is that a significant portion of these people will die from it, so at least I won't fucking have to deal with them any longer.

Seriously. Even if you were fully reliant on AWS API there are compatible options available.

And giving a public shill fucking interview showing your face and name doesn't help matters. You could have quietly stepped away, but you had to try and get some of the spotlight you fucking shill.

I agree, fucking good on them for not bowing down to the pressure. We have to be realistic here though, to the best of my knowledge (I work for a web hosting company) there is no way to filter out shills from legitimate support tickets. Even blacklisting a phrase like "thedonald" or something could cause problems for them. There will come a point where their support guys are just fucking fed up with getting hammered with this shit day after day, hour after hour. It is POSSIBLE that the shills will fuck off before this, it has happened before, but don't count on it.

It is also quite possible that the CEO tells them to shut up and do their job or leave, which I have also seen happen. Plenty more people that want to do that work then there are positions, so we would refill very quickly.

Again, just an opinion, coming from working at a company that (regrettably, in hindsight) deplatformed The Daily Stormer before shit really hit the fan with them. I am ashamed to say I was involved with that, not making the decision but delivering the punishment. He is an asshole and likely a piece of shit (Andrew), but he did nothing criminally wrong which is usually the reason that deplatforming happens for legitimate reasons.

I looked around but didn't find anything, is there a list of "social media" sites that are acceptable for humans? I know about gab and parler, but I recall seeing something that was akin to facebook but for Americans.

$ ping parler.com PING parler.com (0.0.0.0): 56 data bytes ping: sendto: Socket is not connected

Unless they were trying to promote how much damage Amazon terminating them would do? I'm not incredibly familiar with working at potential scale they are at, but if this was my revenue stream I would probably bunker down and move to another host. Lots of hosts can provide instant dedicated servers for you, or even independent "cloud" services. I seem to recall them saying something about not relying on AWS API or whatever, so it should be technically possible. Hell, even a simple static HTML page saying we got fucked would be something. This just seems to be like they are trying to self-inflict as much damage as AWS did by kicking them.
