Here is what's interesting about that...
This speech was in 1980, before that happened. Americans should have heeded his words to "...not trust me. But trust your values--our values. And to hold me responsible for living up to them." Oops!
We the People are responsible for what you mention. We the People hold the power. But We the People must exercise that power or it will be up to others to make the decisions.
If We the People just want to complain, find fault, and blame others... America will be lost. We must step up to the plate.

No doubt there is opposition. There always was. They are fewer, but louder. Perhaps louder than ever. The News Suppression Networks are saturated with opposition.
