Unpopular take: I'd only ever heard the edited (shortened) version for years, and when I finally heard the full original version it made me a little uncomfortable. I don't agree with censorship, but I also don't think the verse added anything essential. I think it's fine to cut it out, just like I'd be fine with about 30 seconds less of the echoing "I want my MTV~" at the start of the song.
