Since Pence is the one counting the votes there is another potential alternative. In the event of either dueling electors OR if the state legislatures send notice that they do not consent to the electors the secretary of state has certified Pence could disallow those electors on those grounds. This procedure has never been tried before so not sure how it could go or if it is even legal. In the event it does work however he could say something along the lines of "due to insert reason here these electoral votes shall not be counted, given that there is not a majority of electoral votes for any one candidate I hereby direct this election go to a contingent vote in the House."

Truth be told America needs a reset, and not in the way the globalists are thinking.
American needs to make the cost of importing into the country so costly that it makes more financial sense to build factories here. This requires a fundamental change in how Americans view the economy.
One of the main things I would do is make it so that publicly traded companies when filing their quarterly reports must also issue an updated five year plan in place that outlines the direction of their company. This would help to reduce the short term bias that companies show when reporting their financial situation. There would have to be a mechanism in place for companies to alter these plans but the abuse of these mechanisms would also have to punished severely.
Stock market means nothing in the larger scheme. Deny them access to credit markets well then all but the most liquid companies would shrivel up and die within a few months.
How it's done:
Trump signs executive order denying any US company or US holding company as of the issuance date from doing business with US financial institutions if they have any Chinese nationals or companies as ultimate shareholders. In addition all US companies must have at least 75% of their capital structure (both stocks and debt) held by US financial institutions.
In the same order block all tax inversions ( the mechanism used by companies to redomicile the US holding company outside of the US) on grounds of national security. This can be done by directing the The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States to block all such transactions. This prevents companies from redomociling and accessing outside capital.

In the large scheme this is small potatoes. It is a start but again, small potatoes. While the United States has the most integrated and liquid equity markets both London and Frankfurt are able to compete.
Now what would be huge is if China was denied access to ALL use capital markets, including but not limited to the bond underwriting market, bond secondary market, and preventing Chinese financial institutions from being "Primary Dealer" with respect to US government securities.
Stocks are small potatoes, it is the credit markets that run the financial economy.
