MTF have it a lot harder than the opposite, that's true. Their rate of passing is a lot lower, and generally need to start hormones by 18-20 to have good results. You can easily tell the people who try though from predators saying they're trans for oppression points and likely to get access to the women's bathroom. That much is obvious.
Incorrect. A lot of passing has to do with your own genetics, dedication to hormone therapy, and properly dressing yourself. It's a lot of work and money to look the way you want to. Not some magical girl transformation.

I'd presume it's because a lot of people expect this magical transformation to happen where they'll suddenly be in their dream body, but a lot of the time that just doesn't happen. Then they get depressed because they're either a short, frumpy man, or this mannish ogre of a woman. The amount of money even needed to invest in surgeries to help correct that is insane too. Lots of plastic surgery. Even then sometimes it doesn't help. 75% of the transition process is your own genetics. Hopefully medicine and science will catch up one day.
Yeah. I don't advocate for bottom surgery and would never get it myself. The medicine and science is really, really horrible in that department. Also insanely fucking expensive. Maybe once we can 3D print organs and body parts it'll be more viable, but right now? Total bullshit.
