We live farther north, but when it gets icy, we break out the micro spikes to put on the shoes for traction. I also discovered that just a little bit of sand worked great on the sloped driveway-I keep a 5 gallon bucket of it in the garage. Studded snow tires too, but you're not gonna invest in that.
