I am a full stack developer, and a very experienced and talented programmer. I know exactly how a system like this would work, and I would say that a “glitch” like this is highly unlikely, bordering on impossible. We’re talking “a solar flare caused a particle to flip a bit in the hardware” type of event. A “bug” in the system, highly unlikely as well, but possible, however this type of bug should be traceable and should have been found and fixed, and probably revealed a long long time ago.
The much more plausible reason is “human error”, or even more likely, fraud.
The funny thing is, even using the weasel word, the statement is still false, they are using the words “evidence” and “proof” interchangeably. Evidence can be almost anything, but it takes more to prove something.
Evidence of voter fraud is also going to be evidence of widespread voter fraud, just like if eggs are in the cake you have for dessert, eggs are also part of your entire meal as well.
A weasel word, or anonymous authority, is an informal term for words and phrases aimed at creating an impression that something specific and meaningful has been said, when in fact only a vague or ambiguous claim has been communicated.
