There's context all the time. And asking for it usually gets you the context. It's way worse on most other sites, including the one this website spawned from.

This doesn't make sense and it also sounds like something a lefty would say. The pledge is about remaining a united front against foreign enemies. And it also says "under God". Meaning that if the leaders of the nation work against God, then you don't follow. And it mentions liberty and justice for all. Meaning that if the leaders are no longer on the side of liberty and justice, you don't follow them. None of what he's saying is true.
The pledge's importance has never been more relevant in my lifetime. This guy sounds like a Richard Dawkins era atheist.

I haven't been paying such close attention, but it's CPAC, so it wouldn't shock me at all. They ban "controversial" speakers all the time. I'm not sure why anyone here would be watching or supporting CPAC. But maybe they're just stupid.

Philosophy failed. Philosophy is the soap box. You aren't even allowed to discuss most pertinent philosophical concepts relating to the problems of modern day life. And most people are happy to help the tyrants silence anyone who tries. And even if you get someone to talk about it, they just call you a name or label you as one thing or another and stop listening. Philosophy is not the answer. I wish it was, but it's pretty evident at this point that it isn't.
