No, but Jesus is not calling for armed confrontation. He is calling for spiritual battle. That’s not to say being prepared to defend oneself is not appropriate. Just that this specific verse has a different intended meaning since he was about to leave them and given that Jesus acknowledged that they already had enough swords - clearly he was not telling them to go by swords, since he said they already had enough.

It’s about preparedness, and Jesus was about to go die on the cross, and leave the disciples on their own without the physical presence of their spiritual guide. So he gave them metaphorical advice on how to prepare spiritually. They already had enough swords as Jesus said, so clearly he was not literally telling them to go buy more swords. It was a spiritual metaphor.

I believe 100% in the second amendment. I am well-stocked in guns and ammo and I have a copy of my constitution by my bedside, right next to a Glock 21.

This does not mean that Jesus, in this bible verse, was advocating armed conflict.

Nope. You have tortured logic to get to that. The pope is a Marxist Jesuit globalist.

It was a spiritual metaphor and all those dudes were martyred because he wasn’t talking about literal self-defense. That’s the context.

If you think that Jesus made statements that did not have multiple meanings or that he did not (often) speak in metaphor (when not telling parables), you don’t understand Jesus at all.

He spoke in metaphors constantly and even when saying things literally there were often layered metaphorical meanings.

If he really meant for them to all weapon up, he wouldn’t have said that two was enough for the entire group of 13.

Keep in mind I am a big time 2A guy. I just don’t believe this quote is a 2A defense quote.

No, it isn’t

It correctly points out that Sessions appointed Durham as a special prosecutor 3.5 years ago and it has only just this week come to light.

Try to keep your hate of sessions from prohibiting your head from dislodging from your asshole.

Here’s a good explanation of the complexity of the statement which was not likely entirely literal and more likely a metaphorical call to preparation since they said “we already have two swords” among twelve of them, and Jesus said “that’s enough,”clearly indicating that he was not actually advising them to each go sell their claims and buy swords. It was more along the lines of spiritual battle:

Then you’re not very good at reading. He VERY CLEARLY states:

We need to dismantle the perverse logic that links personal and national security to the possession of weaponry

He’s not saying anything about when Jesus comes back. He’s talking about now.

Depends. If you can beat The Willows on Lummi Island in a small town, you’ll convince me

Doesn’t even matter. Dude was just summarizing his guest’s previous predictive statements/speculations as an introduction.

He was summarizing his guests views as an introduction to his question, dumbass

To each their own. Try getting fresh cut sashimi in a small town.

That’s a massively strong opinion. I don’t get so far into my opinions that I believe one way or the other regarding lifestyle choices that don’t violate the constitution. What do you win with an opinion of that strength and odor?

3
VoterIDMatters 3 points ago +3 / -0

Fuck that.

Telling everyone to go buy a gun so that you never have to use it would absolutely be on brand.

You can’t take one bible verse alone and apply it in argument. This has nothing to do with that.
