No, you’re wrong. The way to fight it is for the business owners to buck the fuck up. This mask mandate has only worked because the small businesses are so afraid of getting shit down and unwilling to fight if they do get shut down. If they would quit being such cowards and act more like a union (band together, get legal representation, fight it in the courts as a class action) then this mandate would fucking die.

If it wasn’t mandated it would be different. Absent the mandate, I would agree that a business gets to enforce masks if they want and I get to go somewhere that is not enforcing. But the mandate, which is NOT a law, has flipped it. They have not allowed businesses to make the choice, therefore i am not violating a business’s wishes by not wearing a mask, I am rejecting an unlawful mandate that a business has chosen to enforce. Regardless of if the business agrees or not.
