What's a "girl", according to Hillary? I thought they were just "birthing people" or something.
So the Army now works like that scammy wrapping paper sales company I worked with in grade school!
It's a force multiplier thing. You recruit a single person and he or she becomes "they".
Same "journalists" who got sued for publishing a story accusing a bunch of frat boys of rape, without bothering to do even basic fact-checking first.
Join the US Army today, and volunteer to fight to defend any country except your own!
If he won't defend Trump, a rich and powerful Florida Man who got elected president and stood up for him personally, why would I think he'll defend a mere commoner like me?
He's done good things for Florida, but at this point I think his reward is to stay in Florida.
A friend was just showing off that he was pushed to fill out a slew of gender questions on a job application. "Sexual orientation, Gender identity. Do you identify as trans? What are your pronouns?" I would've refused to answer if possible, or gone elsewhere if not. He complied, because he needs a job that much.
What we're increasingly dealing with is actions "under color of law", like a cop declaring you have to have sex with him because he's a cop and you have to do whatever a cop says. That thinking applies to a lot of areas these days, both to justify whatever the government does and whatever it chooses not to do (like prosecute Dems).
If you're a fellow Florida citizen, is DeSantis saying "I'm not going to protect you if New York lunatics wage vendetta against you personally"? He won't defend a rich, famous guy, so will he defend a little guy like me?
I watched the "Hunger Games" movies, and there was a bit where the "heroic rebels" have their heroine pose with a green screen to raise a flag and give a battle speech. So this war really is like the movies, in that sense.
Glad he's one of the people who understands, you can like Ron as governor but tell him to wait his turn till '28. By the way, why isn't DeSantis pushing his Lt. Gov, Nunez, in front of a camera? I barely know anything about her and would like to be convinced that she'll be a good replacement, or that he's got someone else lined up. (Apparently she's a wife and mother with a background in health care bureaucracy. Could be good or not.)
Yep. I was angry he didn't actually go after Hillary considering we had Comey outright saying there was evidence she broke the law -- and leaking TS data is by definition considered a threat to national security. Trump took the "high road" here and it didn't help him. I hope he's learned his lesson. If re-elected he will need to be willing to outright ignore a Supreme Court decision to get anything done.
I'm wondering about the exact intended process here. Could it be that the plan is to have two plainclothes cops gently take Trump aside and escort him to an office where he will sign a document acknowledging that he is "arrested" and must appear in a New York court sometime later? Or is their plan to put Trump in a cell? I could see Trump tolerating the former, but if it's the latter, he would be... ill advised to let that happen.
I figure that Trump decided not to attempt to prosecute Hillary because no matter what, one does not prosecute one's political opponents. She may be a felon, but it would look bad if he'd gotten the DOJ to enforce laws against her. It was a tactful, polite decision preserving basic civility and decorum at the cost of damaging the rule of law -- arguably a necessary sacrifice. Surely both parties will play by these rules.
Once you're a patriot in jail. remember that you can be held there for years without a trial. Meanwhile, the FBI director can go on camera to say re: your Democrat opponent, "Yeah, we have evidence that she committed a felony that endangered the country, but it just wouldn't be reasonable to prosecute at all." Meanwhile, a cop can shoot an unarmed female patriot and not go on trial, even though "all cops are bastards".
That's what I'm hoping: protection by the governor, given that we know the Dems are perfectly willing to hold people in jail for two years without trial. I'm not confident Ron will do anything to interfere, though.
Neat detail I heard about: the staff with wings and two snakes is really a symbol of Hermes/Mercury, god of commerce. You're more likely to see that one in for-profit medical companies, which is a bit of unintentional honesty.
I figure what these guys want, is to send a hundred SWAT cops with grenade launchers to kick in some doors, shoot his pets, and hurl him to the pavement in cuffs. After tipping off CNN about the best time and place to get it on camera.
Fortunately this is one situation where they probably won't be able to do anything quite so melodramatic.
Yep! A couple of other European immigrant groups did this too. I was reading an illustrated book of how very privileged they were. If you were 11 or so, you could graduate from picking rocks out of heaps of coal coming down a chute, with your bare hands in the winter, to get one of the cool jobs underground. To protect you from overly dry throat while manning the coal chutes they'd issue you some chewing tobacco.
I'm told that in parts of Pennsylvania, the people speak English with an Irish accent. Because c.1850-1900 a bunch of German immigrants arrived and worked as coal miners under foremen who were themselves recent Irish immigrants and still had the accent. So these were people lower on the totem pole than Irishmen.
(And both groups were working with a "company store" situation, with child labor, in coal mines. Obviously very privileged.)
Stuntman Evil... Er, Good Kineval?
I keep seeing this meme about Comrade Zelensky owning a house in Florida. Where? What address?
I had been watching a pro-Ukraine video gloating about the idea that the Russians are really bad at communications security. (Really it looks like both sides keep posting photos and videos of themselves that have useful location-tracking info.)
"But how are you going to demand constant praise and celebration for your courage?"
Check out Google Maps! Its makers want you to pay attention to the race and sexual interests of restaurant owners, by marking places as "black-owned" or "LGBTQ Friendly". Since Google thinks this is important and relevant information, I've taken their advice and altered where I eat based on it.
Note that the article talks about spotting "migrants", not illegal aliens. (Seems to be just the headline, with only the vaguest language in the article body.) People who refuse to even acknowledge anything illegal is happening won't help fix it.
